I have enjoyed reading all the GTKY threads lately, thought this would be a fun one. Hopefully it hasn't been done before.
1.) Where did you honeymoon?
2.) How long was your trip?
3.) Would you go there again?
4.) Any good or crazy stories from the trip (baby conceived, kidnapping by a drug cartel, saw a super rare exotic animal, etc)?
5.) What was your favorite food or drink (or both) you had?
*DH and I haven't gone on our honeymoon yet, so I can't answer these.
Re: GTKY: Your Honeymoon
On our 1 year we went to Niagra Falls and had a wonderfully romantic weekend. While we were there we took a tour that talked all about the falls including how much electricity it generates just to have the whole city black out when we got back.
One day we'll get our super fun exotic honeymoon
2) 8 days
3) I would go there again. However, I prefer trying new places and seeing new things.
4) Stories - We caught the end of a tropical storm so it rained a lot! We did a lot of drinking and swimming in the rain. - We went on a land and sea tour. Only one out of three engines on our "speedboat" were running on the way home, and I was convinced that is how I would die. I think we were passed by a rowboat. - One day my husband went back to the room to get a bottle of booze. He finally returned to the pool over and hour later. Turns out a groundskeeper offered to scale a palm tree and cut him a fresh coconut in exchange for a cheeseburger from the tiki bar. He agreed so the two of them sat on our porch...my husband drinking fresh coconut milk and the groundskeeper eating a cheeseburger.
5) It was all inclusive so I loved everything! However, there was an Italian restaurant with the best risotto!
That was fun!!
2.) 3 weeks
3.) In a heartbeat!
4.) No crazy stories. We visited so many great places, but I think Capri was my favorite. The Blue Grotto was amazing!
5.) We ate so many great meals, but I really loved walking to get gelato after dinner every night.
ETA: My avatar pic is a sunset pic I took from our hotel in Capri
We stayed for a week and it was absolutely wonderful.
I would love to go to Jamaica again but would probably stay at a different resort - only because the resort we stayed at had a pretty big night scene and that just doesn't interest DH and I as much anymore.
So from the airport we had to take an hour and half bus ride to the resort. The bus was packed. The AC didn't work. And the windows didn't open. And it was the middle of June. It was hot and miserable. I was very happy to get off the bus and be greeted with a glass of champagne. Thankfully the rest of the trip was wonderful.
This resort had the best pizza. I know it's nothing fancy but seriously I wanted it everyday.
2.) A week
3.) We went back for our first anniversary
4.) Nothing crazy. It was sea turtle nesting season so that was cool
5.) Margaritas and tacos at Zacos Tacos!
2.) How long was your trip? 1 week in the OBX and 1 week in Antigua
3.) Would you go there again? in a heartbeat
4.) Any good or crazy stories from the trip (baby conceived, kidnapping by a drug cartel, saw a super rare exotic animal, etc)? We did some amazing day trips, including snorkeling, zip lining, kayaking, and a boat trip around the island to see where the famous people lived... all were incredible. We also became friends with a black and white "resort cat." We were on the first floor and she would come into our room. I even walked out of that shower one day to find my husband spooning her on the bed (ew). I brought her treats, like left over fish from dinner. We named her Eleanor (after the one restaurant there). She lives an awesome life.
5.) What was your favorite food or drink (or both) you had? Chocolate monkeys, ftw! My husband would often double fist them. They were some banana/chocolate/ice cream concoction... delicious! If you ever stay at a Sandals, be sure to ask for one! The pizza was also awesome, especially the pear/gorgonzola one, mmmm. What I miss most though is the breakfast buffet with the most incredible view and jerkhead seagulls that would try to steal all of your food.
Best food was the food we made together in the cabin! fun!
Nothing crazy happened. Michael Jackson died on our wedding day, and I loved MJ, so I cried before I even walked down me aisle. And, Oprah's makeup artist did my makeup. Pretty good for a $500 wedding :-)
2.) How long was your trip? 6 nights
3.) Would you go there again? Yes it was so much fun!
4.) Any good or crazy stories from the trip (baby conceived, kidnapping by a drug cartel, saw a super rare exotic animal, etc)? Not many crazy stories but I held a baby alligator!
5.) What was your favorite food or drink (or both) you had? A delicious Italian meal at a restaurant called Vergina in downtown Naples
Miami beach, fl- at the Grand Beach Hotel Resort. DH and I got a suite, it was so nice! We were there during off season so we had the hot tub and pool to ourselves downstairs every night.
2.) How long was your trip?
4 days, 3 nights.
3.) Would you go there again?
Yes! It was a beautiful hotel and our room was ocean front.
4.) Any good or crazy stories from the trip (baby conceived, kidnapping by a drug cartel, saw a super rare exotic animal, etc)?
We drank a ton and went night swimming every night, it was amazing.
5.) What was your favorite food or drink (or both) you had?
Ha! We had liquor delivered to our room every night so we could drink on our balcony. I did more shots than I ever have in my life, and the plane ride home I was a hungover mess. Worth it.
We did a lot of amazing things, but the best was booking a private tour guide. We used him on 6 different days across several islands and on our last night in the country he took us bar hopping with his wife. We became the kind of fast friends that will allow us to stay with them whenever we get around to going back.
ALSO there just happened to be a world famous DJ spinning in a 6th century castle and we bought tickets and danced our faces off all night with a bunch of sweaty tourists from all over the world!
We went on a catamaran one afternoon and it was so windy an employee had to go with us. We were going way too fast and our catamaran flipped to the side and we fell off and were just floating out in the bay. A snorkeling boat had to come pick us up from the resort filled with people and cheered for us as we got on, haha.
Best drinks were the dirty bananas, hummingbirds, and Jamaican smiles. And now I'm ready to go back...
2. 2 weeks
3. Would love to go again! Definitely would like LO to see Yosemite some day,.
4. We had so much fun..slept in 9 different beds. Hiking in Yosemite was crazy amazing although since we are from FL and everything us flat, it almost killed us:) Saw 4th of July fireworks from a sailboat in San Francisco Bay.
5. Table side smores at a sushi restaurant in Napa! And all. The. Food. In San Francisco. ..seriously! And Napa wine...wow
It was truly a trip of a lifetime. We have traveled a lot since then, but nothing has topped it!
2.) How long was your trip? 10 days
3.) Would you go there again? Yes, although there are new places I'd like to go to first
4.) Any good or crazy stories from the trip (baby conceived, kidnapping by a drug cartel, saw a super rare exotic animal, etc)? We got lost in the vineyards trying to find our hotel outside Florence, and somehow when we finally stumbled upon a tiny town and I managed to ask directions, we were a kilometer away from it, straight shot down the road. We arrived after dark starving, but triumphant.
5.) What was your favorite food or drink (or both) you had? Brunello di Montalcino wine! It was our wedding wine (my dad collected it for years), and visiting the town of Montalcino was amazing.
2. A week.
3. Absolutely!!!
4. Oh where do I start! Our flight sat on the tarmac for an hour to start, making us late for our connecting flight. They were paging us over the intercom. We made our connection, but our luggage didn't. We didn't get our luggage until the next morning. Then we almost missed the shuttle to the ship. They called us, and we had 10 min. We literally both showered and dressed in 10 min. But then the shuttle didn't leave right away anyway. I came down with a cold, so all I wanted to do was sleep during the cruise. We didn't do much exploration at the stops. On the flights home, there were some tornadoes in the area and so turbulence was horrible and we felt like we were going to die while landing. We made one of our flights, but were stuck 3 in an airport 3 hours from home due to high winds. We finally got on a flight and got home, but we could have driven home faster.
It still was a fun honeymoon, even though everything seemed to go wrong!
5. All the food was good on the cruise.
1.) Where did you honeymoon? Disney World!
2.) How long was your trip? 6 nights, 5 days at the parks
3.) Would you go there again? as soon as LO and his future sibling are old enough to remember. it will probably be our first big family vacation and I plan to go back at least 2-3 more times after that. Disney really isn't just for kids. We loved it!
4.) Any good or crazy stories from the trip (baby conceived, kidnapping by a drug cartel, saw a super rare exotic animal, etc)? Nothing overly exciting but we had a great time.
5.) What was your favorite food or drink (or both) you had? Almost everything was awesome. We were on the dining plan (definitely worth the investment, don't go and not get the dining plan) and one night we had a meal that was about $140, by far the most expensive dinner we have ever eaten. The food at Disney is great.

I don't remember the other questions
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
We wanted to go somewhere I hadn't been before... I'm a diver and had been to many islands in the Caribbean already. It was DH's first time out of the country.
2.) How long was your trip?
1 week, but we also had a week together at home before the trip, which was equally as great
3.) Would you go there again?
No. It was fine, but there are many more beautiful islands and the reefs there made me sad. I also would never do an all-inclusive again. It was perfect at the time so we knew exactly what to expect monetarily after the wedding, but we got really bored of the food and the resort (not bored of the honeymoon itself!).
4.) Any good or crazy stories from the trip (baby conceived, kidnapping by a drug cartel, saw a super rare exotic animal, etc)?
We took a small van to a waterfall in the middle on nowhere on an excursion that was not sanctioned by our hotel. It was amazing and I didn't think twice about how dangerous it actually was not only to get in a van with someone (we heard about it through the grapevine) but also to be so far from medical help if something happened... and I did almost fall off a medium sized cliff.
I got DH to go diving for the first time! That was definitely fun.
5.) What was your favorite food or drink (or both) you had?
The jerk burgers and the pizza were tasty but nothing was memorable.
The Bob Marley drinks were awesome. Yummm.
1) where? Disneyworld!!
2) only 4 days
3) would you love to go again? I'd love to go every year!!!
4) any good crazy stories? Not yet but maybe
5) what was your favorite food and drink? I can't wait to eat at earl of sandwhich, drink a drink in all the world's in epcot, eat at scyfy cafe, mickey bars, ect
It's going to be AWESOME!!!

2.) How long was your trip? 10 days- we left almost 1 year to the day after our wedding- and that was when I went off the pill. (We did not conceive)
3.) Would you go there again? Yes. But only after exploring other places first.
4.) Any good or crazy stories from the trip? H always knew I could understand Spanish but never heard me speak. When we were having trouble checking in at the front desk, I busted out my Spanish. When we got to our room, H goes, "I have to ask- where on earth have you been hiding that?!" ;-)
Oh- the other funny thing- on our last day there, we were walking down the beach and this vendor asked us if it was our first day there. We laughed and said, "Nope, it's our last day." He looked so shocked and exclaimed, "But you're so pale!!" I responded, "No amount of sun will change that!" (I'm a redhead, H is pale)The guy laughed so hard.
5.) What was your favorite food or drink (or both) you had? I was a big fan of Caribbean Orange and Dirty Bananas. I loved the local foods in the buffet.
