My dramatic U/S

I had my dating U/S yesterday. I specifically told my doctor prior to booking it I thought it was early as I believed I ovulated over 2 weeks late. He said he books them based on LMP only..... fine. I go at 5w 3days.

The second the tech put the scanner on my stomach she said, "omg you're not even pregnant." (GREAT choice of words, lady!) Next she did the T/V and saw a sack with a little tiny something inside. She estimated that I was about 4 weeks, although told me it's possible I just don't have a viable pregnancy as at 7 weeks the fetus should be clearly distinguishable. I told her I believed I ovulated late and believe that I'm about 5 weeks. She rolled her eyes and asked how I know. I told her I charted and she said charting isn't reliable.

So now I have to get 2 rounds of betas and I'm in limbo for another 2 weeks until I go back for a second dating U/S.

DS#1: born Dec 29, 2013 
TTC#2 since Sept 2014 - unexplained secondary IF
BFP #2: 11.7.14  M/C: 11.27.14 @ 6w3days
BFP #3: 04.19.2015 M/C 04.27.15 @ 4w3days
BFP #4: 10.05.2015 C/P @ 3w4days
Oct 11, 2015: Cycle 13. Starting Femara (2.5mg). HSG this cycle (all clear) - BFN
Nov 12, 2015: Cyle 14. Femara 5mg + IUI - BFN
Dec 10, 2015: Cycle 15. Femara 5mg + IUI #2 - BFP #5! C/P 4w4d
Jan 10, 2016: Cycle 16. Femara 5mg + IUI #3 - BFN.
Feb 10, 2016: Cycle 17.  No IUI or meds. Taking a break - Natural BFP Mar 5, 2016!!!! EDD Nov 16, 2016
Moving to IVF March 2016
Beta at 10dpo: 21, Beta at 12dpo: 98, Beta at 14dpo: 264, Beta at 16dpo: 745
U/S 6w6d: single beautiful heartbeat of 121bpm - It's a boy!!!!
Nov 3, 2016: Our family became complete. Welcome DS #2.

    That's awful! I agree with @bosco213 about mentioning to a supervisor how unprofessional the tech acted. If I ever acted that way towards a patient, my ass would have gotten written up.

    I would complain and probably find a new Dr. who employs people that are more informed about their specialty.

    What a fucking bitch! I would've lost it on that tech if she'd said those things to me! It's appalling how little some of these health care professionals know about women's cycles and how accurate our charting methods are.

    I absolutely hate when medical professionals shrug off ovulation dates and charting! It didn't matter what I told my doctor and my midwives with my last pregnancy, they only would use my LMP date, not my ovulation date! Even when the ultrasound verified my ovulation date, they didn't use it! So frustrating. FX for good news soon.

    That is so rude! I had the same thing happen to me based on my LMP I would have been 7w3d and when I went in I was measuring 5w2d. The tech was very professional gave us a picture and scheduled a follow up 2 weeks later. I would call the office and explain what happen and request not to see that tech again unless she can learn out to treat patients!

    I would call that office and explain to that tech that she is wrong and possibly stupid. First though, find an office that knows about biology. Geez. Sorry you had to go through that!

    Okay, if you're charting your cycles, then you're right here.  You know when you ovulated.  It drives me crazy that some medical professionals still buy into the "everyone ovulates on day 14 BS."

    What a biotch!! I am so sorry you had to deal with that! I'd go by your chart. It is more accurate than those silly "everyone has a 28 day cycle" thoughts that it seems most Drs still go by these days.

    What a fucking twat! I would be so incredibly livid. I can't believe how unprofessional she was. Can you imagine her saying "you're not even pregnant" to someone who is actually actively miscarrying? I'm so sorry. At least you know your dates. Try not to be too worried!!

    I hate it when healthcare professionals don't believe you could possibly know your own body as much as they do after seeing you for 15 minutes. I understand they have gone to school and have experience and whatnot but they haven't lived in your skin! Trust your body and instincts. T&P for you!

    Keep your head up! you know when you ovulated.... Don't let it stress you out. 
    I would call and report the tech as pp have mentioned. People need to work on their bedside manners in delicate situations, imagine how much scarier it could be had you know charted? You wouldn't know any better and this tech told you you had a failed pregnancy.

    So sorry you are in limbo...hopefully next time you see a tiny baby and have a better tech.  That sounds like a terrible experience.

    Thank you everyone. I really appreciate it. I've calmed down a bit. The only thing worrying me right now is the fact that we didn't see a heartbeat and the tech said I was likely 4 weeks, when I should be 5 1/2... it's going to be a long two week wait!

    I'm going to lie about my LMP just so I don't have to deal with this. I'll just count 14 days backward from when I know I ovulated.
