Trying to see the bright side of winter

Looking for some optimism so I'm not pissed off by the time my husband gets home like I was yesterday...

Now that it's freezing and snowing in Michigan - I really have no desire to leave the house. I got LO all ready and in my car Monday night and scraped the windows, only to realize I had a flat tire. Oh well, back to the couch and now I don't even have to feel guilty!

Also, LO had his 2 mo pedi appt yesterday and where he used to scream the entire time, this time he just smiled and giggled! It really made me realize how much easier this baby has gotten. It was so gradual...he now is calm in his RNP or crib long enough for me to make some food, shower etc. I'm still not getting a ton of sleep but things are looking up :) Plus my long skinny baby grew another two inches and 2 lbs!

What part of Michigan? I was raised in Gaylord (about 60 miles south of the bridge) and now I live in Western Wyoming. My family in Gaylord tells me they already had about 2 feet of snow and were expecting 18-24 more inches yesterday! I can't even imagine that anymore. We get crazy cold temps like -40 here but we don't get that kind of snow.

My plus side for winter is always Uggs. And a change in wardrobe. I always get very excited to mix it up after my summer wardrobe gets boring.

  • I'm in southern CA now, but I'm originally from Illinois. I remember "ice skating" on my front lawn in my snow boots when I was little haha. I honestly miss not having seasons living here. I just started being able to wear something heavier than a t-shirt, and I was dying being pregnant during the summer.

  • Bright side of winter in Michigan: the entertainment of watching the morons deal with winter. Did you happen to see the pure Michigan spoof on Facebook? Snow virgins=hilarious.

I'm in metro Detroit now, but I grew up north of Lansing. So I know the snow could be worse! @lbonga1‌ - I lived in LA for about three years and missed the seasons so much! Of course I totally stopped appreciating them after I moved back... @lil_diamond_eyes‌ - I haven't seen the snow one, I'll look for it. Thank god I work from home now so I don't have to deal with all the idiot drivers...the same thing always happened in LA when it rained, lol
  • @wieb67‌ do u mean Louisiana or Los Angeles?

I can't even leave my house. I live in a suburb of buffalo and have 5 ft of snow in my driveway and side street. Still haven't seen a plow in 48hrs :( I've only been able to shovel out my furnace pipes, dryer vent, and path for my dogs. It's only me and my LO at home hubby is 2 1/2 hrs away and multiple roads are closed. I thoroughly hate winter lol. More snow to come...
  • Some optimism is much needed here cause I feel totally secluded until my parents or in laws dig out and the travel bans are lifted so I can get some help!
  • @ashaw512 Los Angeles :) - @katee268‌ - I'm so sorry! That is a crazy amount of snow!
  • @wieb67‌ I'm from metro Detroit too, small world!

Snow usually doesn't bother me but I feel like it's so early in the season this year. I had a doctors appointment today to get an iud put in but I had to move it since my sitters cancelled because the roads were so bad. I hope it melts soon but I wouldn't mind a white Christmas

I live in Rochester and we have a few inches but that is all. We had to drive to Albany yesterday so we saw most of the state. Syracuse didn't have any snow and ALbany was actually warm. We got out of the car and took off our jackets. We are lucky we live right at the exit where the 90 was open. Stay warm and enjoy some winter cuddles @kaileemariep.
