I've seen some people put the entire infant seat into the cart itself (not the top part). Right now I either a) wear S and push a cart (rare because I'm terrible at putting him in the Moby, I need an Ergo), b) only go on trips where my shopping can fit into the basket under the stroller (do this most often as the basket on the Vista is huge), c) do not go on trips where I would need a cart unless DH is also present to man the cart.
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.
Mainly baby wear as C hates her car seat with a passion. Yesterday we walked to the local grocery store with C in her City Mini stroller and used the basket underneath to hold a few items.
Married 10/06
Baby Girl "C" arrived on 10/07/14 (39 weeks, 6 days)
I tried baby wearing out grocery shopping the other day, which worked pretty well, despite all the weird looks I was getting... I did see this online which looks ingenious.. https://blog.weespring.com/weelove-binxy-cart-hammock/
I use peapod and get my groceries delivered. But I do take DD to the mall mostly to get out of the house and get some walking in, so then I use the stroller but bring my moby in case she gets fussy and wants to be held.
We need to do a Costco run this weekend and I am in awe of @erawka for accomplishing that...
In the cart. It's really hard to baby wear here when temperatures are in the single digits and I have to wear a big bulky coat. We usually get a booth or just hold baby when we are out to eat
We went to Red Lobster yesterday and kept her in her car seat on the car seat sling the restaurant provided. She did really well but got fussy at the end of the meal. It was nice to get out!
I have not attempted grocery shopping with the baby. I just send DH. :P
I am impressed by those of you who babywear while grocery shopping. I only did it once so far but it was not easy at all once I got to the check-out. I had a hard time bending into the cart to get the groceries out while wearing LO. Thankfully it was a slow day and an employee offered to help me bag everything and load my car. I gave him a nice tip in case I ever need help again but I haven't tried since.
The other thing I'm finding tough is making the transfer from car seat to wrap in the 30 degree weather. Are most of you all in warmer climates?
I haven't been out of the house in exactly a week. I legit haven't stepped outside. Not a fan of single digit temps.
I need to go to Target, badly! Have been avoiding taking baby, since we still don't have any kind of feeding routine, and she isn't even 3 weeks old yet. I don't want anxiety about a disastrous shopping trip.
My friend said for Target, put the car seat in the main part of the cart, and place 2 baskets underneath the cart to hold extra items.
It's too cold here to wear baby and she probably wont fit under my coat. City Mini only has so much room in the basket underneath, so I'll test it out eventually...I live right next door to the grocery store (we share an alley), so I will try to wear her soon to test things out.

All of this!!!! I put Emma in the front seat of the car with me (parked) to situate her in the ergo infant thing before braving 25 degree day today. But it was hard yo!
I've had a lot of firsts this week. When we go out to eat she stays in her carrier in the booth and if we get a table she sits on the ground out of the way. When grocery shopping I can see the store from the back yard. I will wear her and walk over there. Otherwise I put the seat in the cart and just put things around her. I don't go without DH if I need a bunch of things.
We bring P everywhere. She's great with noise and will sleep through basically everything so dinner (and even an outing to a sports bar during a football game) hasn't been a problem. We usually keep her in her car seat with a cover over it so people don't mess with her.
During grocery store trips, we usually just put her in the main basket area in her car seat with the handle down so it doesn't rock around. We can usually store a little food in the basket or underneath the cart. If we're doing a big run or going to Costco, we'll take the stroller along.
The only places I have ventured with LO is the dr and both grandparents' houses. Part of the reason is bc DH doesn't want to expose her to anything yet, but I'm also worried about the logistics. Ya'll have given me a little more confidence.
Back of the cart or I wear her if i have all three kids.. I went to walmart the other day (one place I usually try to avoid) but they have new carts that are specifically designed to be able to put the car seat up front, they have a buckle and everything.. this sweet old man greeter sstopped me 'young lady! Thats what this cart is for' when he saw me putting aubrey in the main cart part
We usually just keep him in his seat and bring the stroller. If we go somewhere for longer trips like the mall I'll wear him in his Moby wrap. It's a lot easier now that he's a little older. I just try to feed him before we leave and will just take a bottle of pumped milk with in case he gets hungry. It's been working well for us so far.
I take lo everywhere. We have gone out to eat tons of times (I'm too busy to cook. ;;) ) and we've gone to every store we usually go to. Depending on the store's carts I either put him in the main cart, put him in the stroller or wear him. If he gets hungry I wear him since it is easier to feed him that way. Tonight we went out to dinner and I dropped dh off at the door to get a table. I had to park forever away and then realized ds1 was asleep, so I put him in the stroller, carried ds2 in his car seat and dd followed me. You just have to figure out how to make it work. I even took all 3 kids to ikea by myself (if you haven't been to ikea, it's like Walmart times 100).

With my first, it took me a long time to get the confidence to take him anywhere by myself. I made it a rule that I would take him grocery shopping once a week on my own. It really helped improve my overall confidence with him, not just with taking him out but just in general. Baby wearing helped a lot because he was usually calm when I wore him.
With DS2, we leave the house everyday and the logistics don't faze me because I am so used to it now.
I usually use the carts designed for infant carriers with the strap to hold down the carseat. My son (3) holds on to thr side of thr cart. At BJs and Walmart I get the big cart with the car. My son rides in the car and my daughter is in the infant seat in the main part of the cart. When she is older and doesmt fall asleep during every car ride I will use the ergo.
Tried academy today..... it was an epic fail. She got hungry and I tried to nurse in the bathroom. I just ended up upset and back in the car waiting for DH.

If we go out to eat we just ask for a booth big enough for an extra person and put the car seat on the seat tucked into the far end.
