Baby Dreams

So DD randomly smiles, makes funny cooing noises, and def has some rapid eye movement under those little eyelids while she sleeps. I'm watching her do it right now as she sleeps after her morning feeding.

Anyone else think it's funny they "dream" this early? Any weird stuff LO's have only done while asleep? DH and I always joke that the only thing she probably dreams about are baths, boobies, and binkies.

I also didn't think this was legit (the dreaming, not subject matter), so I googled it.

Re: Baby Dreams

  • Hasn't happened lately (knock on wood), but LO used to get upset and start crying in his sleep, at times paired with that jerky reaction where they throw their arms up in the air while sleeping.  It looked like he was dreaming he was being dropped or something.  He hasn't done that much lately, thankfully!  This morning he went "Oooooh" in his sleep and then started softly snoring right after, which was kind of cute.

  • Baylor smiles, coos, whimpers and even cries I'm his sleep. It makes me so sad to think he's haVing a bad dream.

  • DD2 does the startle thing sometimes and "talks" in her sleep but that's all so far.
DD1 used to have night terrors and scream but there's nothing you can do when that happens. She still got them until she was 3 and a bit.
