My partner really likes the name Sunny for his first born son. I find it funny for a boys name but then again...cool. Different is what we like not popular and thats what sunny is.
I know a Sunny who is from India. I don't know his full name. But yeah, don't put "Sunny" on the birth certificate, come up with a legitimate name and figure out nicknames from there.
WhenI think of sunny for a name I think of Sonny Corinthos the character from General Hospital. Even then it's a nickname for the character who's first name is Michael.
I have an ex BF named Sonny. It was his middle name but thought it was cool as a second name. I'd never name my child Sonny/Sunny but he's your kid. Go for it.
I immediately assumed you meant for a girl, so I was going to comment that I don't hate it, but I don't care for it either. It sounds like a hippie name.
For a boy? Heck no. Unless you're Samoan. I believe then it would be acceptable.
If you don't have a reason like that behind the name, then I would say it's an unfortunate name for a boy.
Re: Thoughts on Name Sunny
I don't think I would choose this as a proper name, I would be worried that people would take him (and his resume) seriously in the future.
