November 2014 Moms

What to pack for day?

As some of you may know, our little girl twin was born with some deformities in her feet (similar to club foot) due to the way she was positioned in my uterus. We will be taking her out of town to Shriner's Hospital for her first appointment, but leaving her twin brother with MIL. I expect we will be gone about eight hours or so. I'm sooo dreading splitting them up and being without my little boy for the day at only two weeks old, but I know the focus needs to be on Willa for the day.

Anyway, since this is our first day-long outing / leaving baby with someone else, I'm curious what I should pack for each of them.

This is what I have so far. Am I forgetting anything? Any suggestions?

- Formula
- Pacifier
- Change of outfit
- Blanket
- Swaddle Blanket
- Something to put baby in for MIL (probably rock n play)

Diapers and wipes and bottles and probably more than 1 change of outfit (just in case) and burp cloth (if you use them).

I pray all goes well for Willa!

  • I also keep hand sanitizer in the bag in case I need to feed him in the car or I need my hands to be clean but don't have access to a sink.

Good luck! Hope all goes well!

  • The only thing I would add would be something to put soiled clothes/diapers in, like plastic bags or wet bags.
