So I was all pepped up to just do this thing and not have to tell everyone about it. But by the time I was blubbering, crying, and laughing at once...I figured I needed to share info/advice for anyone else who finds herself in a similar situation.

Chapter 1: The Positive and Negative Effects of Lake Effect Snow on Infertility.
Pro: Great excuse for coming in for CD3 ultrasound appointment 30 minutes late even though I just slept through the alarm - scariest wake up moment ever!
Con: Planning and driving a route to get meds last-minute through the driving bans.
Chapter 2: You Know You're an IF-er When.
Bumping all evening but you forget to take your first Bravelle shot until 10pm.
Great, now 10 days of staying up way past my bedtime.
Chapter 3: Yes, It Hurts.
WT... how much can one stupid vial burn? Oh, the tears! The shouts! The battle with willpower to push that syringe pusher (sorry not a nurse here) all the way in! And then the sinking realization that 3 cycles of this means doing this 30+ more times before Valentine's Day. Then nausea, dizziness, and a near-fainting spell...can't wait for the next one.
Chapter 4: Milk It For All It's Worth.
Stumbling onto the bed for a cryfest, bloody cotton ball held pitiably, cold exposed belly smarting and red...DH didn't stand a chance.
Our conversations:
DH: Shoot me [he's not a native English speaker, that means 'give me a shot too'], it will make you feel better!
Me: The shot doesn't really hurt, it's the burning medicine.
DH: You said insurance pays for it, right? Go ahead, I will be fine!
Pause....
DH: Wait, what will it do to me?
Me: I can't believe I have to do this, like 30 more times before IVF!
DH: I will buy you 30 roses.
Me: You think my suffering tonight is worth one rose?
Pause...
DH: Well, you are saving medicine for later!
Me: So you're saying your wife should be tortured with burning needles to save money for the family?
DH: Try your butt!
Me: What?
DH: Shoot your butt tomorrow! It will not hurt.
Me: Then why did you whine and complain about your hCG butt shots?
DH: It's not manly.
Me: [changing into PJs] Oh, look at this, poor me! Big red shot in my tummy and a bandaid from the bloodwork.
DH: Hm. Nice body, though. That's kind of sexy. [?!?]

I'm so sorry for the burning with the shot! But thanks for the story. YH sounds too cute! I love how flustered they get when they're trying to make us feel better but just don't quite know what to say, and we're in a mood so we very nicely turn everything back on them...marriage and IF are fun
Hope you're feeling better and the shots get better (sorry if that's a stupid thing to say, I know nothing about them...)
