Something stuck up nose... advice? UPDATE - it's out!

So T has a balled up piece of tissue rammed up her nose. It's too far for me to get to. What do I do? She knows how to blow out candles and she knows how to sniff, but she can't blow out her nose. Will it work its way out, or do I need to do something? It is causing discomfort, but she does also get distracted and jump around, so she's not too bothered by it.

I'm not trying to get it out with tweezers. There is no way she'll lie still for that.

  • Ooh, snot sucker! Good idea. Okay - that worked to get a lot of snot out, and maybe the tissue ball is closer. But we both got tired of that game. Also, every time I tried, she had to have a turn with my nose.

  • Wait till she goes to sleep and use tweezers?

  • Ha hahahahahahahaha @CnAnA - we do NOTHING to this child when she's asleep. I don't think she's ever slept deeply enough to let us do anything.

Current strategy is to see if it resolves itself over the next couple of days.

Might try tweezers later when the parent:child ratio is in my favour.

  • My sister had a fruit snack removed from her nose in the ER when she was 5.

  • You may try a Neti pot in the other nostril to try to flush it out. Or then use the boogie sucker to try to suck it out.
  • Might be worth a pedi visit.

  • I don't have anything new to add, but I am now terrified of what Wesley will stick up his nose!!! I hope it comes out soon.

  • Thanks everyone. She has been a shit all day, so I think the tissue has tampered with her brain. She hid the booger sucker though, so we had to stop with that.

I will let you know what happens...

  • This requires a pedi visit. Definitely not a wait and see type thing sorry! Hope you get it out soon.
