Teething terrors

Ok. Might have missed this in previous post. If so berate me but include the link to the thread please. :D

Honestly this horrible afternoon has been punishment enough.

One if my girls is getting top two front teeth. She has not stopped crying fir hours. Both have thus missed afternoon nap and so both are now crying inconsolably.

I have given her Tylenol as well as teething rings and cold wet face clothes.

Any other suggestions?

Sorry for your (and their) pain.
I cannot help as my kids have all been happy teethers.

I hope someone has some good advice for you.

Fwiw, my LO chews on everything. Hard toys, squishy toys, stuffed toys, blankets, his fingers, my fingers...

Same here! I alternate between Motrin and Tylenol. I use 8 hr Motrin at bed time and motn (she sleeps 10-12 hrs) and Tylenol during the day. Also if she's throwing a fit I find that distracting her by reading or going to another room or singing with a fav toy works wonders to calm her down. Then she'll either rest or nap.

Lots of snuggles and baby wearing going in here. Also she had her own real keys (thanks grandma ) that she loves chewing on. But she chews everything and anything- she went for the dog bone today lol!

Bath and bedtime routine has been early the past few days before she gets cranky. Motrin at the start before bath and she's usually out in an hour tops. She's been waking more often with more motn comfort nursing and rocking.

I know Tylenol upsets her stomach so I try to use Motrin or distract her before Tylenol but it did help her a lot today.
    Good luck!

We've been having a tough time with the top front teeth here too. The Hylands teething tablets really help to calm my kids down so they can fall asleep. We've also been alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen. I know it's a pain with two of them, but if all else fails I would dose them with painkillers (if the timing is right/as needed) and load them into the car to help them fall asleep. That may give them enough relief or at least a reset so you can get them down for the night. We had a few rough nights of wake ups but seem to be getting back on track. Good luck!

    Thanks ladies.

My little one who is currently teething has trouble getting things in her mouth so cries more from the frustration of trying. I can't put them in her mouth because she is crying and won't open her eyes to see what is being offered.

I may try hylands but DH is a freak when it comes to trying alternative meds.

Motrin works much better for us than tylenol. And lots of wine for you.

M's first tooth poked through last Friday and it's still just poking through which has made for a very uncomfortable baby. We tried Tylenol, but she threw it up (she wast quite ready for it and I think she may have swill owed wrong). We tried Hylands Tabs on Saturday and within minutes, she fell asleep. They seem to be the only thing that give her some relief.

    Good luck!!
