NBR Recommend your food processor

We have a 2C  food processor which is kind of pitiful.  I would love to get a good processor, especially since I hope to make some homemade baby food.  Let alone the million other reasons I have wished I had one.  (and I am making a birthday/ Christmas wishlist by request)

I was looking at the Kitchen Aid attachment but eh I am not sure?

We do have a submersion blender which is AWESOME!

What do you recommend?

Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

  • I have the actual kitchen aid food processor (not attachment). I think it was like 100 bucks and it does a great job. I don't use it a TON though, I'll admit.

  • Another Cuisinart here. Clicky for link, it's fine. I like it fine, I make pie dough in it and plan to use it for baby but I'm not obsessed with it.... so. I'm not helpful.

  • I have a 14c Cuisinart professional food processor. I LOVE mine and I am a kitchen snob (love my kitchen aide, nutrimill flour grinder, caphlon pans, etc). I use my food processor for shredding, slicing, pie crust, pureeing... I've had it for about 4 1/2 years.

  • I made all my kids baby food in the magic bullet since it was something i already had. Doesnt work well if you're making big batches but ut worked just fine for what i needed it for. I never bought baby food.

I did the same. It worked well and easy clean up
  • I have a cuisinart that has one base and 2 tops: food processor and blender.  I tried making baby food at home in it.  Carrots, sweet potato and squash were very successful.  I could never master peas.  I'm not sure if that is a tool issue or operator error.  I would say that I would not buy this set again if I was picking all over, but since I have it, it is convenient.

  • I have a cuisinart. I had it before LO was born, so like a PP, I went ahead and used it for baby food. It works just fine for my purposes, but I don't use it often. I tend to just cut things with a knife or, on rare occasions, a mandolin.
  • Another Cuisinart here. It was a wedding gift (7 years ago) and I like it. I did find my blender to be more convenient for making baby food, though.

  • I got a Ninja set from Costco:

Totally awesome.  Picked it up when there was a sale at $120, I think.

  • I have this sucker.

    It's amazeballs!

You can just use the 4 cup for small batches, or the 8 cup.  Then it has both a slicer and grater plate to add to the top.  I've used it on a weekly basis for the last 3 years, and it's still holding strong.

  • I have a Cuisinart food processor and also a Vitamix. My Vitamix sits out on my counter so I feel like I use it a lot more.

I have the 9 cup and love mine for salsa. I had no idea it did all of this! I need to look into this! The only down fall is it is large and I have a small kitchen so storage is tight.
  • I have a magimix that I swear by.
  • I have a Black and Decker that was affordable and works great.

  • I should add that my mom has a ninja that she uses to make my brothers food. He is disabled and requires pureed food. She love it and every time I've used it I've been impressed. If you were only looking to make baby food, that is what I would recommend. Because I use my food processor for about a hundred other things also, it works best for me.
