Transitioning into toddler land

I am a bit terrified. Jonathan is going to be transitioning from infant to toddler room at his daycare. What are your experiences with how much more often your kids would pick up things when they went from infant to toddler rooms? He goes to my work daycare and people there are really good about cleaning but this is the room where everybody shares everything! J is not walking yet but he is a very fast crawler and parents are allowed to wear shoes into toddler rooms. 

Thoughts/suggestions/how afraid should I be?
