cramping in the 1st trimester

Is it normal to experience cramping (similar to period cramps) in the 1st trimester? This is the time my period would be due. I've already been confirmed pregnant by my doctor. How do you know when cramping is abnormal in early pregnancy?

Dull period-like cramping during the 1st tri is normal. You can confirm this with your own doctor but my OB has told me that as long as the cramping is not extremely painful and persistent, it is not a big deal.

Thank you for your help! I have a prenatal appointment on the 2nd. I'm noticing this morning the cramping sensation or more of a"pinching" on the left lower abdomin. I've had no bleeding or anything.

It could be growing pains too. A little cramping is ok, like the PP said. Try to relax and not worry too much.
