I don't see Phoenix as a girl name, plus our final choice was down to Harper and Charlotte, so I vote Charlotte. I do prefer Elizabeth spelled with a Z though.

Twins? You mean two babies? WOW!
Team PURPLE!!
We are excited to meet William Alexander and Harper Abigail in 2015!
My DD's name is Charlotte Elizabeth so obviously I love it and I picked option one. Although, Charlotte has REALLY climbed in popularity in the last 2 years. It's number 2 right now on nameberry.com's mid year popularity list. Just thought you'd like to know. I wouldn't choose it now for DD2 if I hadn't used it for DD 1.
That is exactly why I don't want to name her Charlotte. It is way to common. I love the name Phoenix for the meaning. This little girl was made possible by tubal reversal, hence the meaning of Phoenix, "to rise from the ashes". I figure we could call her Nicki
I really don't think that those nameberry lists are what people are actually naming their children, just something to do with searches or favorites or something. I could be wrong, but the government lists of popular names never look anything like what the nameberry ones do.
I'm not sure why Phoenix seems unfitting for a girl's name, considering that historically it's been more of a female creature. In ancient China the phoenix (or fenghuang) was used as the symbol of the empress while the dragon was used for the emperor.
I have a little one named Charlotte and it is not common at all - no kids in dance, no kids in gymnastics, no kids in preschool class named that at all. I love it of course We do call her Charlie for a NN and it is beyond fitting for our curly haired cutie! Who cares if a name list says its popular - if you like it go with it. Personally i have not encountered another Charlotte where I live, and if I did it wouldnt have any effect on me.
Re: Another name poll for s***s n giggles
I do prefer Elizabeth spelled with a Z though.

Just my two cents.
Edited to add: if you cannot choose...just name her Nevaeh or Peaches and boom you're u-neek and not so popular
