XP: A (long) team green birth story!

Hey guys! It's taken me a while to post this, sorry I haven't been as active over the past few weeks but I've been lurking. I posted this on PAIF and wanted to share with you all too. Thank you all so much for the support that you've given me throughout my pregnancy, and a special thank you to my Tuesday check-in friends! PGAL is so tough and I don't think that I could've made it through especially the first half of the pregnancy without support of others who understand. I'll be lurking and rooting for all of you and your rainbow babies!
My team green baby was born on November 13th at 6:39pm- it's a boy! Joseph Thomas weighed 9lbs 1 oz and measured 21.5 inches. I went in for my induction at 7:30 on November 12th but was sent home and told to come back at 10:30. We started with pitocin and they kept turning it up but it didn't work, was having contractions but they weren't close/strong enough. We tried a foley bulb catheter to dilate my cervix more, which it did, but that didn't kick-start labor either it was just incredibly painful. Then we tried breaking my water, which did nothing to increase contraction intensity or frequency, it just bumped me from 2 to 9 on the pain scale. All of the above was done over a period of about 19 hours and it had been 24 hours since I'd slept more than a quick nap or eaten anything and I just couldn't handle the pain. We started with stadol but it wasn't enough so eventually I got an epidural. Hours and hours later without any progress we agreed to a c-section. I'm sore but recovering well.
We checked in at 7:30am Wed and Joseph was born at 6:30pm Thurs so the entire experience lasted 35 hours. It was not the birth experience that I was hoping for, but Joseph is amazing and worth every second. He spent about 19 hours in the NICU for antibiotics and observation because I developed a fever during "labor" but he passed all of his tests and has been doing really well since. We're struggling with nursing but I'm hoping to make some progress soon.
H is already such a great dad and has been really helpful as I recover. We keep saying to each other, I can't believe he's actually here. We're so in love with him after just 5 days and feel so incredibly lucky. I'll try to upload a picture later when I'm not mobile!
