So I feel horrible that I have been MIA lately, and I had a lot of people wondering where the hell I was, so I figured I would do one big update....

We have been having so much going on and 2 pretty significant 2nd trimester scares... which in turn has led me to hunker down in a blanket fort, where I cry and rock myself to sanity...

At 10 weeks after stopping progesterone, we had spotting... they weren't too concerned with anything and figured it was the hormone shift, told me to pelvic rest it for a week and so on... 
We had our NT scan at 12 weeks, all looked well... sigh of relief.
Then, at 16 weeks, I had some pretty significant spotting. The doctors wanted me in immediately for doppler check and if needed ultrasound. We found the heartbeat right away, but they were still concerned about the spotting. It was attributed to stress and lifting unruly children at work... the spotting was only for about an hour, doctors weren't too concerned, I was able to move passed that scare as well...
Then Saturday while out of town at 18 weeks, I had some more spotting. After calling the on call doctor, he requested that I go in for some monitoring due to my past, while there, long story short, the doctor was a douchecanoe and kept telling me I was most likely going to miscarry and responded with "fair enough" when I told him about my 2 losses and surgery. Anyway, he did a super rough pelvic and cervical check (which later caused me to bleed) then sent me off for an ultrasound that they would NOT let my husband go back with me on. I was a sobbing wreck, he was a wreck and it was just an emotional mind fluck.

All was well with baby, everything looked great and the spotting they think was attributed to bacterial vaginosis, which they now have me on antibiotics for... I followed up with my OB once I was back in town and after reading the U/S summary and knowing the bleeding has stopped, she was ok with keeping my appointment next Wednesday so they can make sure the BV is taken care of.

PHEW, so that is my story, and where I have been. I hate being so sparse, but I have just been so emotionally exhausted with all these doctor/ER visits and scares. 

I hope you guys will forgive me!...

    Hey lady.

    Sounds like you had an awful doctor experience. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I wonder why they were messing with your cervix at all. You want me to go over there and punch them in the face, cause I will!

    I'm glad you're being treated for your infection, that is an important thing. I'll sit next to you in the blanket fort as long as you're okay with a diabetic friend with an incompetent cervix and potential pre-e. ;)

    Oh my goodness lady! I'm so sorry for what you've been going through. I've been going through bleeding & spotting too, it's such a mindfuck. I hope that all the excitement is over for you! That doctor needs a serious throat stomping. Hugs!

       Me: IR-PCOS, elevated DHEAs, low progesterone, weak ovulation  DH: low volume, low T
    SHG 5/10/13: both tubes blocked; HSG 6/28 = Left tube cleared! Right blocked.

    Sorry you've had such a rough time, and shame on that doctor for being so heartless. Glad to hear you're doing better - and I have to admit a blanket fort sounds kinda cozy right now. ;)

    Oh my!!  What a crazy emotional rollercoaster! I'm so sorry that Dr was such a jerk!  But glad to hear from you! And I also have to admit with it snowing and being so frigidly cold today, the thought of curling up in a blanket fort and not coming out sounds pretty amazing!! ((hugs))

    Glad everything is OK even though there have been some scares.  We are happy to sit in the blanket fort with you anytime. :D

    A) I'm so glad that you and the baby are doing well despite so many scares B) Please don't feel bad for taking care of yourself, YH, and LO by doing whatever you need to do - blanket fort it up!  C) I want to punch that Doctor in the face and other more sensitive areas.  How RUDE!!!!  Have you followed up with anyone at that hospital to file a complaint?  D) Many, many (((((((((hugs)))))))))))

    You are such a trooper! I really hope that spotting goes away for the remaining of your pregancy. Baby is a fighter.

    I appreciate you sharing. I've had spotting scares at 6 weeks and 9 weeks. Sucks balls!!!!

    I am so sorry that you have been having a rough time. Spotting sucks and so does having to deal with horrible doctors. I am so glad that everything ended up okay. Sending lots of T&P your way that things go smoothly from here on out.

    *I am no longer regularly posting on TB because of the fucked up debacle of Jan 2015 when administrators banned long-term members and mods with no notice and completely dismantled a community full of women who cared about each other.  If you see me posting it's only to give support to a poster who needs it or to post something important enough that I need to say.  I am no longer responding to  anything other than issues that affect people who I care about*
    37 years old, MH is 42
    TTC since 2010; Dx Unexplained Infertility; possible male factor 
    August 2012 through June 2013:  6 IUIs with clomid and trigger shot, all BFNs
    7/2013, Pregnant! Unmedicated--we were on a treatment break
    8/20/13 no heart beat; 8/23/13 d&c
    3/15/14 IVF #1:  Lupron/Follistim/Menopur; ER 3/10 resulting in four transfer grade blastocysts, transferred one pretty blast and froze the remaining three. BFN. 
    Natural FET in May cancelled because the universe hates me my hormones were not cooperating.
    6/24/14 FET #1: transferred two pretty embryos; BFN   
    8/28/14 FET #2: BFP, ended in Chemical pregnancy

    Done with medical intervention and getting used to the idea of CFNBC.

    ((((Hugs)))) for you. I'm guessing ER visit for that fabulous bedside manner, eh? Every pg woman that comes in with a pg related problem gets "threatened miscarriage/ threatened abortion" diagnosis. When I went in last time, they did an u/s found hb no problem and made sure I knew that that didn't mean I was in the clear.... arrrghhh! I am so sorry your husband wasn't with you- that's messed up!

    And I am glad all looks good so far to your actual OB.... :-) thinking of you!

    I'm so sorry things have been so rough. Im glad they figured out what was wrong. All that spotting had to be difficult to deal with. Take care of yourself!!!!

    I'm sorry you had to go through all that!  I also had bleeding and an infection (not related to the bleeding though.. that was a whole other screwball mess).  The infection was cleared with medication quickly.  I hope it is the same for you and you never have to go through this again!

    So sorry about everything that has happened. I had two bad spotting episodes due to BV also. I was out of town for one. Scariest experience so I feel for you :( good luck next week!

    Wow. What a dick that doctor was. I am glad you will be writing a complaint. Hopefully all of the spotting is behind you now that they have the BV under control, and you can peek out from under the blanket fort!! Enjoy your pedicure!

    I'm so sorry you've had to go through that. I am glad that everything with the baby is alright! Stay in your blanket fort if you need to, but know you got a bunch of ladies willing to try to make you smile. Like with cute kitties!
