Posted this on my BMB as well but if you have an SUV with a 3rd row, is your middle row captains chairs and if so how important do you think that is? With LO2 coming in May, I am envisioning longer car trips (DH's family is 2 hrs away and we have a beach house about 1.5 hrs away) and me having to climb in the back seat. We love the pathfinder but there are no captains chair option for the middle row and I can picture myself trying to calm a screaming baby reaching over the high back of the middle row and it being annoying. Am I over thinking this?? Clearly I am overwhelmed at planning for this second child HA.
Re: XP: SUV question for moms of 2+
I drive a Buick Enclave and love it. Two captains chairs, most third row legroom, more space in the back than most SUVs (Tahoe included). Quietest cabin. You can flip the captains chairs to access the third row, but we didn't. The 7 year old (still in a 5 point harness as she barely tops 40 pounds) and 2 year old (RF) are in the captains chairs and the 10 year old is in the third row as she can buckle herself.
You cannot fit 3 boosters across the back - learned that the hard way.
2010: Infertility
October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)
I guess if you're having your second, I think you could fit them both in the second row and still have room for you if necessary.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
