Pregnant after a Loss

It's a.... :)

We had our u/s this morning & we found out that we are having a boy!! :) We are so excited, we were hoping for a boy but a lot of people, including DH, thought it was a girl. We are so happy to hear that everything looks good & baby boy is healthy. I did find out that I have an anterior placenta, which I don't know much about, but from what I have heard & read so far doesn't sound like much of a problem. They did tell us that that was probably why I haven't felt the baby move yet. It was such an amazing experience to be able to see the baby, especially to be able to see his face (when he wasn't covering it with his hands or sucking on his fingers). Now I can't wait until our gender reveal party on Saturday so that we can tell everyone what we are having. :)

Congrats!!! I'm still ridiculously excited from finding out the sex on Monday. It was way more thrilling than I expected!!

    (Posted too soon)

I think the anterior placenta just means you won't feel movement as soon, but maybe it can also complicate a c section?

  • Congrats! Yay team blue!! I had an anterior placenta with Aaron but no one seemed worried. I think it will just affect the movement you feel. I don't think I was feeling movement till 20 something weeks because of the placenta being in the way.

  • Congrats!  I had an anterior placenta with one of my twins in my last pregnancy, and I definitely felt my baby with the posterior placenta alot more (both in frequency and intensity).  However, with this baby girl (who also had an anterior placenta), I feel her all the time and I felt her early.  I think it can change per pregnancy. Don't be alarmed if you don't feel anything soon, though.  Most people don't feel their babies until much later with an anterior placenta.
  • Congrats on great u/s and team blue!

  • Yay congrats on a healthy baby and on being team blue!!! :)
  • Thank you everyone! Like some of you said, the u/s tech just told us if I haven't felt movement yet that's why but that it won't affect much other than that. I did read that if the placenta doesn't move by the end of the pregnancy, which it usually does, that it can make c-sections a little more complicated, but that it's not really anything to worry about.

No it doesn't. As long as the surgeon knows where the placenta is you're fine in a c/s. Placental position is not associated with where or how they make the incisions.
