I just bought the thighmaster

I thought it would help with strengthening my thighs and hip flexor muscles. I assume it would be just like doing the ab and adductor machine at the gym. I got it to do at my desk at work so I'm not completely stationary at my desk other than walking the 20 steps to the bathroom. Or is this type of exercise a no no when pregnant? I have my 32 week apt tomorrow and I'll ask the doctor then as well. Other than that, what other exercises do you all do while pregnant?

  • Loading the player...
  • My job is my workout, lol. I'm a shift Leader at a bowling alley. And although I can't do certain things I still do a lot of squatting and walking and lifting things I am allowed to. Other than that... Just walking right now.
  • Oh I missed the question at the end of post. I run and I swim

  • LOL, I like all the little exercise clips! I don't have much interaction with anyone here so I figured I'd be ok to do it periodically at my desk. My husband was concerned about someone seeing me too. :)

Also, OP, I don't think the thighmaster is a bad idea at all. Obviously you should mention it to your doctor but more physical activity is usually a good idea.

ETA: I do some light yoga and go to the gym a few times a week.

  • I would think the thigh master would be fine. Suzanne Somers would be proud! I have to be honest, I would laugh if I saw a coworker doing that at their desk, but whatever you have to do to get in a little exercise.

I haven't exercised much this pregnancy (mostly because of laziness and chasing around a toddler), but last time I walked, jogged, and did the elliptical and machines at the gym, including a thigh machine that was similar to the thigh master. My doctor said to take a break if I started to feel too crampy or pass-out-ish, but otherwise he encouraged keeping up my fitness while pregnant.

If I still worked a desk job, I'd probably be sitting on a bouncy ball instead of a basic chair. So much fun until my clumpsy butt would falls backwards feet in air.
  • I haven't exercised because of pregnancy complications but a lot of my pregnant friends still lift weights, run, do the elliptical, et cetera. If you're on instagram look up the hashtag #fitpregnancy or something.

  • I walk a lot. And sometimes elliptical depending on my heart's cooperation. I actively engage my abs while I walk to make sure they're getting some work, too.
  • Pretty sure all my exercise comes from my 1/2 mile walk uphill from where I park to where I work plus all the walking I do around the building.  So just a lot of walking over here.
  • I mostly walk and TRY to go to yoga twice a week. We've been doing some renos so I've considered painting and moving boxes, etc, as a work out haha I highly suggest swimming. I'm a swimmer and lifeguard and just feel so awkward now that I have a big belly I don't like to go (although I should!). A lot of women say if makes them feel like they aren't even pregnant (your belly becomes weightless).
  • @Jellybean707‌ THANK YOU! I seriously love you in the creepiest way possible. Best pic evarrr!

@emmyg65‌ stole my exercise suggestion gif... Waaahh
