Tilted uterus=pain?

ive posted about tilted uterus before but I can't find it.

Lately I've been experiencing quite a bit of pain, you'd think I'm well over due but I'm only 11+ weeks. My hips and pack are killing me and I'm starting to feel the start of sciatica.

Any other mommas with a tilted uterus experiencing pains?

I can't wait till I'm 20 weeks so I can receive an amazing deep tissue with some awesome stretching!

Re: Tilted uterus=pain?

  • I didn't have that with DS. Maybe make an appointment with a chiropractor?

  • I have a retroverted uterus (tilted backwards) and have a ton of back pain. I thought it was sciatica too but my doc told me yesterday it's SI joint pain. It's on the left side right above my butt check. A lot of my friends have the tilted uterus and some straightened out (like I heard it's supposed to) and others had really bad back pain and back labor. Doc said to keep active when I can and stretch and move. Don't get into stiffening positions for too long. Hope you get some relief soon it is terrible!!!
  • I have that problem. I had sciatica at 5 weeks!!!! so i know how it feels i go to the gym 4-5 days per week and i have been weight training for 3 years i think thats whats helping me this time around but when i was pregnant with my son 5 years ago i had a hell of a time because i wasnt healthy. Try walking that helps me when i am hurting really bad or a my dr said a belly band even when your in your first trimester. I am 10 weeks 2 days today and i am feeling ok but still have some painful moments. Good luck :)

  • My uterus is really tilted too and I NEVER thought about that what could be causing my back pain!
  • Thank you so much for responding ladies. I'm a massage therapist and I try to be super aware of my body but lately my right lower back has been spasming. Im going to talk to my doctor, I'm taking a 32 hour car ride next month and I'm sure I'm gonna have to be carried out if I don't figure something out.

I was super dedicated to the gym about a month before I got pregnant, I would go 6 days a week and my eating was awesome but then we had a big stupid earthquake and it completely threw me off and I haven't gone since-_-. I need to start going again.
  • No sciatica with this one yet. With DD, I had it super early and it stuck around for the entire pregnancy.

I am having quite a bit more hip pain with this one, though. My thoughts are that it's just the ligaments being loose already from the first pregnancy, and getting a head start on this one.

This was me with DS, only on the right. But I also have legs of different length, that contributed to the issues. I ended up in PT for a couple of months with DS. I've subsequently been dx with a herniated disc.(when not pregnant)

Ute is still tilted. Back has hurt for a week of 9 so far, but feels pretty good right now. But I know what I can do to help this time and already have a referral to PT should I need it.

  • Do you ladies use heat or any creams for the pain?
  • I used ice. It helped a lot.

  • In my pregnancy with DD, my MW okay'd icy hot. I'd be very careful with hearing pads, personally.
I know the pain stinks. I hope it improves for you soon.

  • I have an arnica cream that is amazing and I used to use cannabis balm that's even more amazing for when I was menstrating but I know that's a no no. I'm wondering if the arnica will still be ok, I'm gonna email my doctor about it cus these random spasms and constant hip and pack pains suck. Didn't have it with my other pregnancies.
