Revealing Gender to Grandparents

Hi ladies! So I had this idea of giving pink or blue ornaments to grandparents-to-be that would be our gender reveal. But today, we learned baby's sex and now I feel antsy to wait!!! How did / how are you planning on telling grandparents? Mine all live far so it would be through a phone call or FaceTime, or mail. Thoughts?!

    I think the ornament thing is really cute. Although, if your parents are anything like mine, don't tell them you know or they will bug and bug until you spill. 

    And it's sex, not gender.

    I know, I've been Pinterest crazy with "gender" reveal parties, that's where my head was, lol. I haven't told them yet, but I feel antsy to wait lol!

    We are finding out on the 18th of dec, and plan to do an ornament. If I knew now, I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. Maybe you can give the ornament on Thanksgiving? Late Nov is when lots of people start decorating for Christmas.

    Could you mail them the ornament and instruct them to open it while youre face timing?

    Instead of ornaments I bought a few baby boy outfits and then handed the bag of outifts to my Mom to open and unfortunately my Dad was working so I just had to call him and tell him the good news!  We did the same thing for my in-laws though-told them to open the bag of clothes and they will find out the sex!  I was all about a reveal party or waiting until Christmas too, but when we found out last Friday I couldn't hold out!

    This has given me a great idea - make an ornament... :)

    We find out on Dec 23rd and my yoga teacher suggested we wrap up the news and let family open it on Christmas. Now I'll have them write it on an ornament!

    I didn't realize the ornament thing was a popular idea! I'm sure it's pretty easy to make, but I ordered these for the grandparents

    I have put these together for the grandparents. We are mailing ahead of time and will call them to tell them which box to open after our anatomy scan.

    Aw, the ornament idea is totally cute! I would totally steal it, but alas, our A/S isn't til the first week of January.

    With our first we just called everyone, but I'd like to do something special if it's a girl. Between me, my sister, and my SIL, all we have is boys, so a girl would be extra exciting.

    I feel you there. I wanted to do something fun. It is a waiting game with our family for a granddaughter. There are 6 grandsons on DH's side of the family and 6 grandsons on my side of the family (11 between the two sides). Still no granddaughters. So a girl would be HUGE in either of our families. But with family all 2000 miles away we had to preplan for a surprise. :)

    Damn it! I won't find out until Jan 14th. Wish I knew by Christmas because this is a cute idea!
    Yes....mail it to them as pp stated and do FaceTime or Skype.
