NBR: When are you putting up your Christmas Tree?

For whatever reason I am SO into Christmas this year. It's probably a combination of just having moved into our new home and it being our first Christmas here...Coupled with nesting and wanting the house to always be clean and decorated. But I am ready.. And it's only Nov 18th! I think we will end up putting it up the day after Thanksgiving- although I would love to before then! Interested in hearing when some of you ladies will be decorating...

We won't be decorating this year

( I'm on bedrest and we have to stay at my parents (totally thankful for them... And that they are 15 min. From the NICU) we live 2 hours away from the NICU

( I'm sooo bummed... But, it's only a season... Right??

Ours went up last Wednesday, the kids love it so I figure why not? More time to enjoy it and it's beautiful!

I'm not sure... Normally the weekend after Thanksgiving, but we will be out of town. After that MH is having surgery, so I'm not sure if it will happen.

I usually dont get one til the 1st weekend in December at the earliest because i need a real tree and i want it to last until January.

Ill slowly start putting out the rest of the stuff after thanksgiving.

I will be decorating the Friday after Thanksgiving while DH is at work but we will wait to get our tree for a while so that it doesn't die and drop all it's needles before Christmas. I sooo want to decorate all ready but DH side-eyed me when I told him I wanted to pull out the decorations tomorrow.

Also, how in the world do you deal with a toddler and a Christmas tree? I feel like it has "disaster waiting to happen" written all over it.

I don't know. I guess the tree will go up when I get around to it or get excited for Christmas. Right now my brain is focused on thanksgiving dinner.

Our rather complicated trip to Florida over the whole thanksgiving week is currently taking precedence, but hopefully the first week of December ? As soon as we're unpacked from traveling. I feel like I just put out the pumpkins and autumn flag for Halloween! But ... Not hatin' on those w the holiday spirit already

If it were up to my husband, December 24th. I grew up with a Jewish mom and a Catholic dad, so we didn't celebrate Christmas. Now we do both and I LOOOOOVE it! So, if it were up to me, it would probably be up already, lol. We'll probably compromise and do it the day after Thanksgiving.

We're trying this whole 'Grinch stealing the Christmas lights off the house' thing this year. I ordered a 4 foot grinch cut out like the one in the picture I attached from Etsy but I haven't gotten it yet. Hopefully it works out!

We'll decorate the day after Thanksgiving. I prefer to decorate before, but we started hosting Thanksgiving and I feel like I'd get major crap from my family if the house was already decorated! We get a real tree, so we'll probably go get it later in the first week/weekend of December.

@WanderingA - DS knocked the tree down last year. It was totally unintentional, but yeah, at 22 months, he took down an 8 foot real tree. Quite the mess and we couldn't get the tree to sit quite right after that.

Next weekend. We take our stuff down a day or two after Christmas so we put it up a little early. (dd's birthday is the 28th and I want it to feel special and not like Christmas)

Our shower is at my apartment on the 6th, so I am hoping to get the tree up and all decorations finished the weekend after Thanksgiving. (Yes, some decorations are already up. And I have listened to Christmas music. I refuse to feel bad about this!)

Typically Thanksgiving weekend like a lot of you girls. I love the holidays but I have fall decor I love and I like to keep that up through thanksgiving. We also do a real tree so getting it before thanksgiving doesn't work so well...

Though we are moving this thanksgiving weekend so it will be pushed back a week

I don't think I'm going to get around to decorating this year. Sad. I still have a lot to do to prepare the nursery. Not to mention my week nights are jam packed with meetings and classes. Also...all of the Christmas shopping and holiday travels. Just don't foresee it in my future.

Ours is getting delivered sometime in the first week of December, so it will go up then. Real trees are kind of super expensive here and don't show up until then, but I don't have to store a fake one this way. And I prefer real anyway.

The day after Thanksgiving is my normal obsessive day for decorating. We usually go out to get the tree, come back and turn on the Christmas Pandora station while I make some hot chocolate or cocktails (we know what I'm having this year), then decorate, then watch Elf. And if we're still awake, we'll watch Christmas Vacation too. Oh I love it all so much.

But we just bought a house, and the work won't be done by the day after T-day.

So as soon as I possibly can!

DH is a bit of a Scrooge but mine goes up when I get home from Thanksgiving at my parents. I usually do it alone so the magical Christmas elf visited and he doesn't have to help.

Now that I think about it, I might try to convince DH to start setting up this weekend. We leave for Vancouver on the 17th, so we will be having our little family's Christmas morning on Dec 14th. It would be nice to have the tree up for more than just a couple of weeks before we leave.

We usually put it up thanksgiving night. This year we will be at my parents in wilmington and will put it up either sun or mon when we get back. We are doing minimal holiday decor for the first year in our house. Candles in the front windows and a wreath on the door. Will prob bulk it up over the years but since its the first in our house we want to build on it. One of our neighbors had her Christmas decorations up last week. Totally weirded out by it.

I put my Christmas tree up a week ago. My baby shower/Thanksgiving are out of town, and I'm not waiting another weekend after that to put up my tree. Unfortunately, the kitten loves the tree, so I have to take it down anyway. He ruined the bottom branches.

Haha! Mine has been up since last weekend!! Hubby is going to be out of state the first 18 days of December. Usually we wait til the day after Thanksgiving but it is my daughters birthday weekend and with husband also probably preparing for his trip- it made sense to do it early! I totally get the whole "more into Christmas" thing!!

Also- I am due mid Feb but think it may be January... so figured Christmas stuff will come down quick this year to be ready for babies!
