We got her two "big" presents - MyPal Scout and that 3-in-1 elephant thing by Fisher Price that they can bounce on, walk behind, and then ride.
My mother-in-law saved a bunch of DH's baby/childhood toys, so we are gonna wrap a bunch of those to put under the tree. Figure that we are going to get them out for her anyway around that time. This way, the tree will look "more full" and she can "open" more stuff. Not that she will care...but I'm sure she will like ripping the paper. And she won't know if the presents are new or used.
Dunno what we are getting for her bday yet...probably a toy that involves putting the balls or toys into specific holes that they roll down or something.

So far both kids are getting cozy coupe cars that I got off craigslist. DD will be getting a bike. I think we are going to get the step2 motorcycle for DS. We got one for our friend's son one year and he loved it.
I've picked up some stacking toys and blocks. I've gotten a few board books because he loves to sit with us and look at pictures and listen to stories. I plan to pick up a few things he needs (a sweater in the next size up, sippy cups, etc.) and wrap those also. Trying not to go crazy since he will have no clue what's going on.
I have a ton of hand me down toys in the attic from her cousin waiting for her to grow into. As soon as DHs sister found out we were having a girl she started sending everything her DD grew out of. Between those and all the toys she already has I'm having a hard time justifying buying her too much else. DH wants to get her a basketball hoop so we will do that for Christmas and I picked up a small play kitchen second hand so that will be for her birthday. She's probably to young for both of those but she'll grow into them soon enough.
I'm still looking for a stocking and ornament for her though. When I was growing up we got an ornament engraved with our name and year every year and I would like to start a similar tradition for DD. Did anyone else get a stocking for LO yet or are you skipping that for this year? Any suggestions on where to get nice personalized ornaments?
I got DD a baby doll stroller/walker thing. That's her present from Santa. I also got her a chatter telephone, bath toys, and a few books. DS would be aghast if she didn't have presents to unwrap while he's working on his. Sweet boy.
I plan on filling his stocking with 18 month & up clothes. We need to stock up anyway. I am making a Christmas Eve box that i plan to do every year (pinterest) with new pjs, christmas books, Christmas cup. I am going to attempt a Teepee for playing/reading inside. I seem some cute ones on etsy but they are quite expensive. Looks easy to make but I'm not the greatest sewer so we will see how it turns out!
We just got two stacking toys (rings and cups). He'll be too busy eating the paper to unwrap much more
ETA as a ftm it was really fun picking out gifts for him! I even had him with me. I couldn't decide between plastic or wooden rings so I held both up to see which one he went for. Plastic won out!
