TTMA IUD removal/ TTC

Obviously I should make a doctors appt to talk with them about it.

If you have had an IUD removed and then started TTC what was your timeline like? I've had mirena for 2 years. Thinking about having it removed in January or February

    I had my first Mirena for 5 years. I had it removed in July 2012 we didnt start TTC right away and my cycles were wonky right up until I found out I was pregnant in April 2013 and my estimated conception date was 2/26ish. We never really figured out if it was my body adjusting to the lack of hormones or if it was PCOS since we were in the middle of testing various stuff when I found out I was pregnant. I've heard it can take up to a year for your body to regulate but I've also known people who got KTFU on the first cycle after removal.

    I took my Mirena out in February and was told that I needed to use condoms until after I'd had my first post-Mirena period (because conceiving in that first month with a depleted endometrium would be bad). I purposely scheduled it to come out a week before my expected menstruation date, so that part was easy, and I was KU the next cycle (I'm 37 weeks!). For comparison, with my first pregnancy, I stopped hormonal BC in July and didn't ovulate again until October (conceived in November). 

    The IUD doesn't stop you from ovulating (it just stops the sperm from swimming) so you could be fertile the second the IUD comes out. TTC post IUD is the same as TTC post barrier method.

    Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the input. I wouldn't have any clue about where my cycle is because I haven't had a period since before I got KU with DS in 2011.

    Ideally I'd like to be pregnant by mid- late march.

    I'm also on team fast KU. Had mine out 9/4 and got a BFP on 9/25. I had Paragard.

    Had mine removed in July 2012 w the intention of TTC in September. I was having v light periods and had the IUD removed mid-cycle. I had some bleeding right away, then went right back to being regular.

    I waffled on "officially" TTC, whatever that means. We got pg w the twins while NTNP in Nov 2012.
