Sorry I'm back to west coast time this morning. Hopefully it's not too late for some of you. In honor of the last week and the impending holidays here are a couple questions for you.

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list?

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year?

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list?

England/Scotland. I haven't been yet, it's on the bucket list, but I'll most likely be going in the next year or so.

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?

We had a minimoon to Atlantic City, DH employer at the time denied him vacation time to go on our honeymoon. We went to New Orleans last fall as a delayed honeymoon and are looking forward to going back

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?

Christmas. I like to decorate and bake and enjoy seeing most of my family

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year?

That we got our IF answers and have a solid game plan. That I'm done with school in a few weeks and finally will have my RN

1. I would love to go to Europe, anywhere in that region. It is on my bucket list.

2. DH and I took a cruise for our Honeymoon. Unfortunately, the first morning we were in the boat, the engine caught fire and we sort of drifted in the ocean for 5 days before they pulled us back to shore. Our Honeymoon do-over was a cruise to Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Martin. It was amazing!

3. I love them all, equally. I just love decorating and baking for each Holiday.

4.I am thankful for my DH who has been my rock and kept me sane through all of this.

1. Recently, I've been fantasy-planning trips to Iceland and Newfoundland. Now that the snow is piling up, though, I think those fantasy-plans are going to go on hold....

2. We took a stay-cation 6 months after the wedding, in my husband's hometown in China where we were living. It was so romantic and fun to enjoy all the things we didn't get to do normally - restaurants, museums, and exploring other neighborhoods.

3. Christmas!! Since I was 16, my parents let me do all the decorating, shopping, and wrapping. They just gave me budgets for everyone (including myself and my siblings) and then they were all surprised Christmas morning. It was so fun to plan and shop and spend someone else's money! Now, I try to be the one to make sure we get around to all the traditions.

4. This year, I am most thankful that we are living in my hometown now. We're able to have good family time, spend time with my grandmothers who are not too healthy, DH is able to get an excellent and affordable education, and we were able to buy a wonderful house that's not pricey at all. I believe there's nowhere else we would be so happy right now and I'm thankful that this is where God has put us for now!!

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list?

Probably Italy, but as I mentioned in last week's GTKY, I'm afraid of flying-- so I have to deal with that first.

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?

We went on a honeymoon right after the wedding, to Jamaica! It was honestly amazing, minus the flight of course (although a couple Xanax and a Red Stripe did me wonders). We stayed at a Sandals and I loved the all-inclusiveness, it was so nice after all of the wedding planning to be able to totally relax for a week.

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?

In order, I would say Christmas, Halloween, and then Thanksgiving. The Christmas season just makes me so happy, I love the lights, music, gifts, food, and family time. I also get really into Halloween, and love scary movies and carving pumpkins in October.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year?

Probably my job. I interned at this place during my last year of grad school, and was so happy when they offered me a job in early June. It's been a saving grace to have this through all of the IF stress, it keeps me busy and feeling productive. I feel lucky that I'm in a career that is so rewarding.

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list? There are so many places I'd love to visit that I haven't made it to yet, including Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Africa...but when I think vacation I tend to interpret that as more relaxation than site seeing. So, also at the top of my list, where I would both relax and site see is Hawaii. I'd love to go!

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple? It's a little cliched, but we honeymooned at an absolutely amazing all inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya of Mexico. We actually loved it so much we splurged on a return trip for our first anniversary last year. It was supposed to be our last hurrah before...ya know...

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why? I'm in the minority on this one, but I'm going to have to go with Thanksgiving. I like Halloween but I don't get into it as much as I used to. We don't celebrate Christmas, and Chanukah is such a minor holiday. But, I love Thanksgiving. The past several years we've hosted at our house and always have a good mix of friends and family. It's work, but totally worth it. I love a house filled with people eating and drinking and enjoy each other's company. It warms my soul up!

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year? I am thankful that I live in a time and place where I have options. Yeah, this IF thing totally sucks, but if I lived somewhere else in the world or 20 years ago...my options would likely be much more limited than they are now. So, I'm thankful that we get a chance.

Oh so many places! I do want to go to Greece as a bucket list item. So much history!!

2nd place would be Scotland to see the homeland of my family line.

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?

We honeymooned in South Haven, Michigan. We didn't want to spend an outrageous amount of money and since it was the weekend after Labor Day, we pretty much had the whole town to ourselves. Andplusalso, since it is only two hours or so from our home, we go back for our anniversaries

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?

Thanksgiving...hands down. I've never been a big Halloween fan. Christmas is lovely and I love giving people gifts, but the pressure and expectation from entitled and spoiled family members (not just kids, adults too!) ruins it for me. Thanksgiving is a lovely time to spend with family where we just appreciate each other and our lives without the added commercialized hoopla.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year?

I am thankful for my husband, my home, my job and my insurance coverage.

So many people want to visit Scotland! I've heard its a great place!

@triathlete23 - I've heard great things about Door County! I'd love to go there someday.

If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list? I'd love to go to Maui. When deciding on our honeymoon I was stuck betweeen Hawaii and Europe. We were getting more bang for our buck by going to Europe but it's still on my bucket list.

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple? Our honeymoon has been our favorite vacation. We took 9 days and spent most of it in Paris, Brussels, Bruge, Amsterdam. Bruge and Paris were our all time favorites. I loved walking and seeing the history, culture, and the food - yummy. I could go for an almond croissant right now.

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why? Christmas, I just love the spirit of giving and the overall feel.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year? Honestly, it's been DH - we had a rough past 2 years and to see our relationship grow. I couldn't have done it without him. I'm so thankful for him.

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list?

DH wants to go to Australia. I would love to make that happen for our 5th anniversary, but we're trying to buy a house and adopt, so who knows if that will happen.

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?
We went on a Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas, Grand Turk, and Jamaica (our favorite part, by far). We went ziplining, climbed up a waterfall (in the water), saw the clearest, bluest waters, and so much more. It was amazing. And the cruise ship itself was incredible, too.

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?

I don't really care about either. I understand the significance of Christmas, and that's wonderful, but I don't really celebrate holidays anymore. I guess if I had to choose, it would be Christmas.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year?
I'm thankful for the people in my life that have helped me through this exceptionally difficult year. Next to the year my mother was killed, this has been the hardest year of my life and I appreciate every single person that has stepped up to help me.

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list? Anywhere warm with a beautiful ocean. DH and I love visiting Hawaii, and we'd never turn down a chance to return. We really loved the low-key feeling on Kauai. Although, we would both love to trace our family history, too. It's a bucket list item for both of us- so sometime we'll be visiting Finland, Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man.

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple? We went to Oahu. I'd never been to Hawaii, but that started my love of it.

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why? I love Christmas. I love trying to find a gift that really touches someone or is something they love. Getting together with family and baking is one of my favorites, too.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year? My wonderful hubby. He has been pretty amazing through everything- IF related or not. He still is oblivious sometimes, but there have been some really sweet moments where he has surprised me with a sweet thought or act out of nowhere.

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list?
I would LOVE to go to Hawaii. It looks so beautiful and warm and fun! Def on my bucket list. I will go someday. So jealous of all of you that have been there already.

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?
Well we didn't take a honeymoon really. We bought a house instead (closed 4 days before the wedding) and then I started my new job a week after the wedding. But a year after our wedding we went to Disney (5 days) and Daytona Beach (3 days). While we were in high school and through college we had a "Disney Fund" because we thought it'd be fun to do. Well we forgot about it and I found it when we moved into our new house. We actually had like $1,500 in it (we just threw change in it whenever we had it). So it worked out well and it was cute how it played out!

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?
Christmas! I love buying gifts for people. I also like spending time with family and being all cozy in my house with the tree lights on and decorations around me.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year?
I'm so thankful for my job. I absolutely love it and the perks are awesome. I only work 9 months out of the year, the insurance is great (minus not paying for IUIs/IVF if we needed to do that in the future), the pay is great (although my student loans make me SO broke), and I have amazing coworkers. I'm also thankful for my DH. He puts up with me always and never complains. He's my rock

It's crazy how many of us have Iceland or Scotland on our bucket list. Also I'm sorry about not including Hanukkah.

@Lindy04aggie - Who did you take your cruise with? I've heard nothing but amazing things about them.

@Shauntee- We almost went on Carnival's for our first anniversary until that happened. That's crazy that you were on it!

@BlueFairy5 - I've been dreaming about going back to Italy. Would you want to revisit the same cities or visit new ones if you went back?

@Shafwilson - I wish I could get DH to the RM. He's too afraid to travel to MX.

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list? I have always wanted to go to Turtle Island in Fiji. The cost is crazy though so I'll settle for just visiting Fiji and Bora Bora especially if money is needed for other things.

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple? We honeymooned in Italy. Originally the plan was supposed to be Spain and Italy to honor both mine and Babe's heritage but we couldn't afford both, didn't have enough time and ultimately the desire to visit Italy was stronger for both of us.

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why? My favorites are Christmas with a close second to Thanksgiving. I love the traditions of Babe's family on Christmas Eve and shopping or making the perfect gift for everyone. But I absolutely love the warmth that Thanksgiving brings. And let's not pretend the food isn't amazing.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year? I know this is really lame but I'm super thankful that we were able to get a new bed this year. We didn't realize how much our health depended on it. For me it's meant less migraines and less back and hip pain.

@Bluefairy5 Oh yeah we were totally the same way. It snowed for the first time in 30+ years when we were in Florence which meant no one knew how to handle it. It was pretty and quaint but I probably wouldn't go back again. I'd love to go south on a food tour of sorts. Actually I'd love to eat my way through every vacation I'm on. Did you get a chance to go to Murano while you were there?

I think Thailand or Cambodia would be at the top of my list, but we've already decided that our next big vacation is going to be to Chile or Argentina. Although, we are currently on a travel moratorium for financial reasons, so who knows when that will be...

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?

When we got married we were both working overseas for part of the year, so we decided to do our honeymoon in the States. We flew into Phoenix, rented a car and drove around Arizona for 10 days. Flagstaff and Sedona are amazing @LLM100811. We also rented a cabin at the Grand Canyon and hiked half way down (too exhausted for lovin' that night, let me tell you

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?

I love them all!! The holiday trifecta is my favorite time of year. Christmas has a slight edge though because of the presents (I loooove to buy presents!) and the fact that you get to have a tree in your living room! But you can't beat Thanksgiving for the food and the day drinking.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year?
This one is hard right now because it has been such a crappy crappy IF week for us. I would have to say that I am thankful that everything else in our lives is going swimmingly except for the obvious. We just bought a house, MH's post-doc turned into a permanent position, I got bumped up to 35 hours at my job, our families are healthy and we have an amazing group of friends. Not too shabby.

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list?

So I have barely travelled, so my bucket list includes pretty much anywhere! LOL! I would love to do an across Canada trip, but our goal is to do a trip from Ontario to Newfoundland! DH has been and totally fell in love with the island. We toyed with the idea of a destination wedding there, but was too expensive! I would also love to go to places like Fiji, just because it sounds swanky! I agree with most others, I would love to go to Scotland, Ireland, Africa, Thailand. We are hoping to plan a tropical getaway in January if this IF thing doesn't pan out, probably some place cheap though!

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?

Like @shafwilson went honeymooned in the Riveria Maya, Mexico. We stayed at a beautiful resort, which was fairly new, but happened to have an explosion 3 days before we arrived! When we heard about it people were panicking! I called our travel agent to make sure the resort was still open and that our room had not in fact exploded, they assured us that it did not effect our room, but we could have went to another resort. We decided that it was probably the safest place on the planet at the time, like what was going to possibly go wrong after an explosion?? We went and had an amazing time! The bonus was that other people got scared and decided to cancel their trip, so the resort was fairly quiet. We had heard that due to the large resort it could be difficult to get chairs on the beach and dinner reservation, but we had no problem!! We would go back in a heart beat!

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?

Christmas is hands down my favourite! I LOVE giving gifts! DH likes to tease me, because when I give a gift I always have to tell the 'back story' about why I bought/made the gift for the person. I love the feeling of finding the 'perfect' gift for someone! We don't do a lot of outside decorations, but I love the decorations inside and how cozy it feels with the Christmas lights twinkling! I am super excited about this Christmas because I finally splurged and bought a pre-light Christmas tree! It is never a pretty sight to see me trying to untangle and hang the lights on the tree. Without fail I would forget to test them and half burnt out....open another bottle of wine, start over...

My truly favourite part of the holidays is being with family and friends. My Mom's side of the family is all getting older (like not many little children right now), so a couple of years ago I started a Cribbage tournament during our Christmas gathering! It is so much fun. We will have lots of finger foods, drinks and great laughs! I can't wait!

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year?

I am thankful for overall health, a great job that I love, my amazing DH who is not only an excellent husband but my best friend! I am thankful for my family and always having tomorrow.

1. I'd have to say Disney. I've been there a number of times before, but I love how being there distracts you from your real-world problems.

2. We honeymooned in Hawaii - Kauai and Oahu. Loved it there! I'd like to go back and see Maui.

3. Christmas. I love the whole season... from baking cookies to decorating to wrapping presents.

4. I'm thankful I have time to spend with loved ones.

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple? We did Disney World and a Disney cruise to the Bahamas.

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why? I adore the build up to Christmas (i.e. Hallmark Christmas movies, decorations everywhere, the music, all the preparations, etc.), but I usually find Thanksgiving Day more enjoyable than Christmas Day.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year? Right now I am incredibly thankful that I have a job that is relatively flexible. It makes scheduling RE appointments so much easier!

Australia is on my bucket list but is currently cost-prohibitive considering the unknowns of IF. Someday I'm going to the Great Barrier Reef!

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?

We honeymooned in the Riviera Maya, Mexico too @redandblue. MH planned the entire trip as a surprise and it was romantic and lovely. That was many moons ago, and we've traveled to 4 new continents since. We've been lucky to have had a lot of travel adventures together, and we love visiting new places! Travel keeps me more sane than I otherwise would be.

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?

I love Thanksgiving. It is not commercialized and the food is amazing. I don't celebrate Christmas anymore, but I do think the lights, music and other peoples' decorations are lovely.

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year? I'm most thankful for an understanding, supportive, forgiving husband. He's my rock and my best friend. But, in general, I've been more mindful lately of appreciating the things I have that much of the world does not. It sounds cliche, but food, clean water, dependable electricity, education...not everybody enjoys this kind of life. I need to start finding ways in which to give back.

Love Monday's GTKU

1. If you could pick any one place to vacation where would it be? Have you been there before or is it on your bucket list?

I love to snorkel and be in the water so probably Fiji. This is def on our bucket list!

2. Where did you and your SO honeymoon or if you haven't, what has been the best vacation you've taken as a couple?

I went to Cambodia and Thailand with my ex husband. Cambodia was AMAZING. I just got engaged to my long time boyfriend last night and I have NO idea where we will go on our honeymoon, possibly Yellowstone or somewhere in the Caribbean.

3. Which do you prefer, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas and why?

Love, love, love Christmas. I'm an atheist so it has nothing to do with religion, but family. This Christmas will be my first without my family since we are spending it with my fiancee family so it will be a bit tough this season

4. Sometimes it's difficult to see the good during our hard IF days but what are you most thankful for this year?

I'm thankful for the support of my family and friends during this time. I have had quite a few mental breakdowns while on Clomid and Progesterone and thankfully everyone understood my flip outs and didn't give me shit for it.

@bunnyberry yes there was a proposal....

He had me do this....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MatcQT3X1d4 (told me how to put my fingers together and went through it all like the youtube video above). I was confused at first, but once he got to the ring finger and started explaining it I started to get it....he almost cried and asked me to marry him. It was sooooooo sweet.

I was in shock. I knew it would happen soon, but had no idea it would be so soon!

I guess I should clarify. I will participate if there is an event with extended family that requires my presence. As to the reasons? DEBBIE DOWNER ALERT Well, first, my mom was REALLY into holidays and it's never been the same since then. Secondly, as more and more time passes without kids, I just feel like all these holidays are centered around family and I don't have a family, so I feel alienated. Lastly, we usually both work on holidays, so we will just go all out for our anniversaries and birthdays instead. Anyway, that's the long and the short of it. Sorry to be such a downer! I really am working on my negativity. I hope therapy and martial arts help.

@BlueFairy5 we stayed at Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios!! It's a smaller Sandals, and adults-only. Is that where you stayed too?? I know there was another one right next door that was bigger, I think that was called Grand Riviera! We had such a great time, the food, service, room, ocean, etc. were all wonderful.

@BlueFairy5 Whenever you have the opportunity, it's a must see. The town was so romantic and quaint. I wish we would have stayed in Bruge for the three days we were in Belgium and visited Brussels for the day. We did the opposite, stayed in Brussels for 3 days and visited Bruge.
