Need snack ideas for weight watchers/general health and BF

I have started weight watchers because I have only lost about 10 pounds since giving birth. I have 30 to take off - 10 from DS2 and 20 fromDS1. I am one of those people who doesn't lose weight from breastfeeding. Even with the extra points I get for breastfeeding, I am always way over my allotted points and I'm Still hungry all the time. And I do mean all the time. I'm struggling to find healthy snacks that also fill me up. Fruit is great, but it doesn't fill me up. Greek yogurt is also great, but i don't want to eat it all day long, I need other snack ideas. I feel like nuts are worth a lot of points, and peanut butter on wheat bread is too. I don't eat red meat, but I do like chicken and turkey.

So does anyone have snack suggestions? Help please!

  • I have no clue how WW works, but have you tried switching out the bread for fruit or vegetables? Instead of peanut butter on bread put it on apple slices or celery.  I like tuna with a little bit of lemon juice, dill, salt and pepper served on cucumber slices instead of bread or crackers.

  • I don't have many new ideas but I'll list a few: I love non fat cottage cheese, Greek yogurt with fruit, apple with almond butter, 100 calorie snack packs of almonds, edamame is great as it keeps you busy a while and is full of protein, pre made veggie trays. I eat rolled oats oatmeal for breakfast and add some blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and a little brown sugar.

Good luck! It's hard to eat healthy when getting out the door to the grocery store is so much more difficult now.

Cottage cheese ranch dip: 1 regular size container of low fat cottage cheese 2 tablespoons dry ranch mix, and a few table spoons of milk blend until smooth.

Oatmeal with apple pie spice and chopped apples

    Hard boiled eggs

Whole wheat wrap with Nutella and banana.

    Cheese sticks
    Apples and peanut butter
Carrots and bell peppers with hummus
    Cold cuts
    Hard boiled eggs
    Almonds

Try to increase protein and decrease simple/processed carbs. Balance each meal and snack by including both protein and carbohydrates.

It's best to lose weight at a very slow rate, and to make sure you're getting enough calories for breastfeeding (no fewer than 1800 calories per day and probably more like 2200-2500). Keep taking your multivitamin too.

Here's great info about BF and dieting in general, and some info regarding WW specifically at the bottom:

    Good luck!

  • Thanks! I think I eat too many carbs (love carbs!). Anyway, I know that breastfeeding and my supply is more important so I'm trying to eat healthy, record what I eat with WW and not starve myself.
