I'm done at the end of this week (Saturday)! I'll be 39 weeks and 2 days. I wanted to work up until the baby's born, work's really stressful and I can't take it anymore. My boss offered me vacation before the baby's born and then I can file for FMLA after. WOOHOO!
I did at 38 weeks. I work for family so it was really flexible and I found myself struggling to deal with the stress. I was just melting down instead of helping.
38 weeks exactly, but I have plenty of time so I was happy to go off early. OB today said that if I was still working, she would take me off, so I planned it perfectly!!
I really struggled with this as I was determined to work up until I went into labor (or got induced) to maximize my time with DD. HOWEVER - once I got my induction date, I told my job that tomorrow would be my last day. I felt SUCH a relief
Also... I found out that FMLA starts the day I'm admitted into the hospital - not the time I leave work. So the week that I'm off (this week) doesn't count toward that 12 that's protected under FMLA. it's just PTO (I did have PTO saved up to cover the first week that short term disability doesn't)
Voted before 38 weeks but I also had twins. My last day was one week before I delivered. I imagine I would've worked to at least 39 weeks with a singleton.

Woah, woah, woah....backup here. Is this everywhere?!?
I made today my last day. I have the next two days off, so technically starting my leave at 40 weeks 5 days (unless I somehow give birth before Thursday!!)
I had my c-section yesterday & started my leave that day. The last couple weeks were a major struggle, though! I just kept telling myself I'd rather suffer through work to have more time with DD
I had plans to work until I deliver since my office is closer to the hospital than my house and to save my PTO. I delivered a few days earlier and wish I had some indication I was going to because I still needed to get some work done. Oh well!
My plan was originally to work until I gave birth but I was having a very hard time performing my job to the fullest (Physical Therapist for preschool age children) and decided that last Friday would be my last day (40 weeks 2 days). Although I am wishing I was still working this week....I am not someone who likes to be home all the time with nothing to do but I am enjoying having more energy physically since I am no longer getting up and down off the floor all day!
I ended up going 2 working days before my induction. It was becoming harder to work and my contractions had picked up so much it made more sense. I was also told at my OB that by the way DD was positioned 2-3 good contractions would cause my water to break and I didn't want to have that happen while I was in the middle of teaching my students. They didn't need to see that as 10/11 year olds.
Turns out I went on maternity leave and all contractions stopped or slowed down and I ended up having to go in our induction date.
The plan is to work until the baby decides to come. I'm home sick today. Caught a cold and my husband is insisting I stay home and rest so I'm not sick when I do go into labor. Hopefully it will pass quickly and I can get back to work tomorrow. I have all my pressing work done but I don't want to be out longer than I have to when I'm already going to be on maternity leave for a while after the baby gets here.
I did SS because I'm just starting it on this Friday and having my RCS on Saturday. I felt like I just needed one day before hand to get the house situated and make sure everything is ready to go to the hospital and to get my DS to my ILs for the weekend.
You ladies are champs. I was working as a barista in a busy coffee shop. Although I do think keeping really active was good for me, I tapped out at 26 weeks. Im going INSANE!
Voted SS. I only worked until 36 weeks & change... but that's only because I ended up with an emergency c-section that weekend. My intentions were to keep working until I went into labor, which I guess I did.
I had planned on working up until I went into labor and that is just what I did. Mind you, I worked from home the last few days, but I worked 7am-7pm on the Friday and went into labor at about 9 pm that night and had Cameron on Sunday. It's a good thing I did too because I would have been so mad taking time off without my baby here and then not having my baby with me for an additional 2 weeks when he was in the NICU!
Voted SS. I work from home and have two clients. One of the client is really easy and I can do some of the work and push the rest to perhaps January or Feb. The other client knows I'm reducing my work for the next two months and is fine with that. I will just monitor my emails and make sure few projects is moving along as it should.
My plan was to work until birth & that's what happened. I called in 1day out of my entire pregnancy and that was 3days before I delivered. I worked 2days before I delivered though
BFP#4 3/17/14 - rainbowBaby BOY arrived 11/10/14 !!
Decaf for everyone! Muhahaahaa! That was always my revenge for customers that treated me like crap.
Yes! I have only done it a few times but it was very much deserved. And if you want extra hot, I hope you want burnt lava milk that will melt your face off.... Extra dry, here is your styrofoam latte. I loved it though. Usually Im quite mild mannered but I really thrived in the pretencious snarky dont-give-a-F environment as a sassy pregnant person. Im gonna miss it....
I'm still working...it was kind of funny to see people's faces at work when they asked my due date last Thursday, and I got to say "today". My plan if for this coming week to be my last before maternity leave since they're inducing me the next week. Obviously if I go into labor before then, I'll be starting then (which I'm really hoping will be the case). This whole past due date thing is no fun.
Re: when did you or are you going out on maternity leave?
I was really glad I took it when I did because Will came on time and I wanted a week off to get things done before he arrived.
