I have been doing skin to skin in the mornings during our 8 am (ish) feeding. I find it convenient because I can dress him for the day afterwards. Usually I try for about an hour or so. I felt badly because I was reading my book during our skin to skin and not interacting with Will so I started reading my book aloud to him. DH now calls it "naked book club".
I didn't realize that the benefits continue for a long time, so I'll do it as long as possible.

I love the idea of "naked book club" (LOL, that sounds weird out of context!). It's genius to combine the soothing sound of your voice and reading to your child with skin to skin. The benefits of both are immense. I'm always encouraging families to read anything to their young babies, so that they get immersed in the sounds and rhythms of language. Go mama!
I usually do it while breast feeding and after (sense we both are usually shirtless when I feed him. Also in the morning time I put him on Hs chest for skin to skin with him as well
@AnnieRoo13 Like you, I do it after our 8am (ish) feeding. However, we both usually just sleep. I love your idea of reading, though, I will be trying that tomorrow! I haven't thought about how long I will continue it, but I love me some baby snuggles so I don't plan on stopping any time soon
