Hey, girls! Hope everyone is doing well today.
So, I went to the ER last week for dehydration/extreme nausea and was prescribed Zofran to take as needed.
At first, it did nothing. But after a couple days, it helped ALOT. I called my obgyn to get a prescription, and the secretary told me that they are no longer prescribing Zofran during pregnancy...I'm confused! Does anyone know why some obgyn's are ceasing to offer this medication to pregnant women? Am I missing something that was in the news, or a new study, or something? I asked the secretary why, and she said she didn't know...
And are there other options for the nausea?
Re: Zofran use in first trimester?
Now, my damn insurance, on the other hand, doesn't want to help me out with it.
At the end of the day, you need to do your own research and make the call that's right for you. Hospitalization due to dehydration is also not good for baby. As a pp suggested, Diclegis has made a world of difference for me.
