I love Daryl grease and all. It was an excellent episode. I think Carol is such a compelling character and I think she has evolved the most in the show. I loved how Daryl subtly reminded Carol of her humanity by placing Noah in danger. That was a really smart move in the show. These character developing episodes are my favorite.
I don't think she was intentionally hit. I think that's putting a lot of faith in unknown and I don't think Carol has it in her to be that trusting @Robs Baby Girl

And my friend and I were talking about walker children last night. I don't think there are more because of the emotional response (like when they went to the daycare to get formula for Judith and it was thankfully empty of baby walkers?) but I think that the rationalization is that there is considerably less meat on children/kids. So the walker may eat all of them before they turn. I think that children walkers in the beginning (Sophia, and the walker with the bunny in the first episode) probably weren't completely consumed because there were more humans to attack so the zombies would take a bite or two and move on.
I think the last time they showed a walker child was the very first episode when Rick shot a little girl walker at a gas station.
I was relieved when the body Daryl burned wasn't Beth! When I saw that scene last week I got really worried. I think the two episodes left before the winter hiatus will be great. There's going to be a great showdown between Rick's group and the hospital group. Dawn is going down!
ETA: I forgot about Sophia becoming a walker in season 2.
Re: What happened to our Walking Dead threads? This could lead to spoilers.
The scene with the mother and child zombie nearly made me lose it.
@raveness - Boondock Reedus definitely does it more for me than TWD Reedus. Sean Patrick Flannery is nice to look at, too. :-D
@BookitBoo - I got a little weepy at that too. It's not very frequent that they show zombie children so it always throws me a little when they do.
I can't wait to see how they get Carol and Beth out of that hospital. But seriously, only 2 more epidsodes until mid-season break!? I can't even...
Walker children make me sad, but I'm shocked there aren't more of them.
Do you think Carol may have intentionally allowed herself to be hit so she could get inside to help Beth?

As for your baby walker theory, yes it's gross, but probably true.
