Hey everyone. I'm hoping to get some perspective from others who've had lap/hysto procedures. I'm about 10 days post op and starting having really intense cramps tonight. They're really love in my pelvic area and constant. I've never had cramps like this before, but they feel like really exagerated versions of period cramps I've had in the past. The thing is, I've been on BCPs non-stop since 3 1/2 weeks pre-surgery. I'm continuing the pill through Thanksgiving then stopping for my first medicated cycle.
I had some mild cramping last week that I mentioned to the nurse at my REs office. She didn't seem concerned because they did do a lot of stuff while they were in there. She even threw out that it "could be my body rejecting the BCPs," which I didn't even know was possible.
I certainly don't want to be an alarmist and call the on-call doc tonight for cramps, but they are REALLY painful. Obviously if it's still this bad in the morning I'll have to call them because I don't think I'll be able to stay at work. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? It seems odd that pain like this would start 10 days after my surgery, but I guess it could be my body healing?? I don't know...any thoughts?

Re: Cramping Post Surgery, When to Worry?
I was in a lot of pain after my lap. surgery, but by a week later, I was feeling better. If you're having intense cramps all of a sudden 10 days post-op, I think it's worth a call to the doctor.

And thanks @rainbowbridge14 and @BethKate2. I'm definitely going to call in the morning if I'm still in so much pain.
Hopefully you're feeling better and don't have to call, but I think it's a good idea if you're still in pain.
Having pain 10 days post-op isn't super abnormal, I don't think. I was still having a little pain at that point. Intense pain out of the blue is kind of concerning, though.

Thanks for the input and support, as always! I have been feeling much better today, actually the cramps starting dissipating late last night. The doctor's office didn't seem concerned by intermittent severe cramping, especially without any other symptoms. I go in anyway on Wednesday for my nurse consult to get me set up for the first medicated cycle so they said if it was still happening they'd check it out then.
Since I was able to go (and stay) at work today I decided to agree with their wait and see plan.
