AHHH!!! First tooth? Tips and advice please :)

My LO's first tooth broke through this weekend and while he hasn't been biting me, he may be knawing a bit more than usual or his latch might have changed because one nipple REALLY hurts. No bite marks or redness, but it's very sentitive and even pumping hurts a bit. Any tips?

When he does try to bite, i say no firmly and if he does it again I remove him (he hasn't tried to bite since it broke through yet but was biting last week).

I"ve already ready to draw them closer when they try to bite and will try that if it comes to it. 

Any other tips? How do I handle the pain? What worked for you?

    I'm having the same problem. I don't think she is biting me but her latch is weird. My nips are red and very tender :( I put some lanolin on this morning, hopefully that helps. It's good to know that it gets better! I do worry about the top teeth coming in. It seems like those teeth would definitely scrap your nipple......

    Thanks!! I've been putting BM on them .. hopefully his latch returns to normal soon!! He's a very distracted eater so generally when he latches I try to let him be or i might miss the window and then he won't eat for a while again! I guess it'll just be a tough few months. Thanks!

    My LOs first two teeth were no problem. The top two have been bad, though. Like PP said, I've had to pay a lot of attention to latch and position, just like when she was a NB. If her latch is funky, I unlatch her and try again. She's 14.5 months, so sometimes I can get her to open bigger by showing her and saying "ahhhhh.." like at the dentist.
