Now that the babies are a little older had anyone tried adding dairy back into their diet or given their kiddo any dairy like food?
I think I read somewhere that they may grow out if it by now but I also read to waita bit if they are sensitive.
I have an appt at the docs this week so I'll ask but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.
Thanks!
Edited for clarity.
Re: Mums with babies with dairy sensitivity...
My older DD had dairy sensitivity. When I nursed I was on a dairy free diet, we used dairy free formula. When we ditched bottles for sippies, she had almond milk. Around a year we slowly began trying small amounts of different dairy, and she tolerated more and more. We started with tiny amounts - a teaspoon of yogurt, a fifth of a piece of string cheese- and if she got an upset tummy we'd avoid that food for a month or so, then try again. She is now 2 and eats a regular diet. We only notice issues- constipation, then diarrhea and diaper rash, tummy aches- if she had large amounts of diary. For instance, her Nana can't tell her no ever and let her have 2 pieces of cheese, a yogurt, cereal with milk, and some cream based soup, all in a day. Then we had a night of tummy aches and a day after of poop problems. But she is fine when fed sensibly.
