  Could you possibly do a trial day with both of them? Explain that it's a phase two of the interview. You like them, but want to see how they interact with your child.

  Yes, they both offered to babysit for free! I would pay them of course but maybe I could ask each of them to come help me out one day this week.

  That's a great situation to be with. I think if you really think through all the details you probably like one better than the other. I would try to be as nice as possible with the one you don't choose and let her know that even though you went with another candidate she was your top choice as well and you wish her luck and hope  you can get in touch if something doesn't work out and you need her.
