And this is why I am with SO... And the fact that he makes cute babies.
SO watches sales. He is very big into Christmas shopping and loves to spoil the kids rotten (remind me to tell you about the Christmas 3 months into dating some time). This is something planned all year, so there is no going into debt or hurting finances involved. Ok, we complain a bit, but we truly are fine. So he was watching all the local stores and I guess received a coupon from Toys R Us. We do a little shopping there but not a lot because it is cheaper elsewhere, but sometimes they are cheaper or have items that cannot be found local. SO insisted that we HAD to go shopping at Toys R Us yesterday because of some deal... ok, fine.
We filled a cart. Yep, full. Gifts for all 5 kids and our soon to be 6th. We did have a plan already for all the kids so it was not random items.
The total (including all the sale prices) was $719. BUT, SO thought ahead and come to find out there was a reason for his madness. For opening up a Toys R Us credit card (he knew he would get it) he got a % (10% I think) off the total, including sale items. THEN, when you use your Toys R Us credit card on a Saturday, you get another 10% (or was it 15%) off. Lastly there was one more deal to stack. He had received a 15% coupon in his email. Sadly we couldn't print it though. Luckily, our Toys R Us will take the coupon if you take a picture of it on your phone and they can read the little code to punch in. :-D
So a recap, $719 total before all the % offs.... The total dropped to $421! That's for 6 kids. Woot Woot!
