Perfect! I'm hosting this year for my family. I'm planning on making a turkey, stuffing (I found a delicious sausage and apple stuffing recipe that I'm going to try), and deviled eggs. My family will bring mashed regular and sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and cranberries (we always have the canned ones, it's tradition!).
Between my family's Thanksgiving and DH's family's the next day, I'm making 4 pies: 2 pumpkin, 1 apple, and 1 cranberry-cherry.
I decided I'm hosting thanksgiving. Our families can come or not. I'm still in the earlyish stages of planning. So -- turkey for sure, green bean casserole for sure, and a sweet potato casserole I saw on the pioneer woman. I'm still deciding if we'll have mashed potatoes. I know tradition, but I'd rather have sweet potato. If it's only three of us, we don't need two potatoes. Probably stuffing. Definitely Ina Garten's cranberry conserve.
Pie: toll house, pecan, caramel apple. Three pies isn't too much, right?
@squirm veggie wise, what about some glazed carrots or corn soufflé or squash? I forgot about squash in my menu. I'll probably do it because it's lo's favorite.
Tollhouse pie is like chocolate chip cookie in pie shell. It's the freaking best. Google Nestlé tollhouse pie. That's the recipe I use! Super easy too!
Her recipe is mashed sweet potatoes with brown sugar and nuts and stuff sprinkled on top. It looked divine!
I'm going out of town, so I'm not cooking, but I've hinted heavily that a sweet potato casserole with marshmallows needs to be on the menu at my mom's house!
Appetizer: I like cranberry Brie tartlets and cranberry chili meatballs.
I saw a recipe for those brie tartlets- It's super easy and I love brie. I wanted to try a baked brie too. In phylo with walnuts and granny smith apples.
They are super easy, kinda classy, and very tasty!
This is our first Thanksgiving at home so we are starting a new tradition. Everyone gets to pick 1 or 2 things for the menu other than the turkey. DH requested my mashed potatoes and bacon wrapped asparagus . DS wants cheesy biscuits and corn (I froze some ears of corn from the summer to surprise him!). I want stuffin muffins and stuffed grape leaves. No one likes cranberries but me so I plan to pick up a cranberry walnut salad from the farmer's market. I am going to make a pumpkin pie but we will be going to the inlaws for dessert.
My ILs are hosting, and my aunt is coming with us. We plan on having (at least): Turkey Stuffing Green beans Potato chip casserole Chicken n dumplings Pumpkin pie Fruit salad Rolls
I am making the stuffing and bringing rolls. I offered to bring a corn casserole thing (new recipe I'd like to try), but MIL vetoed... She says we'll have enough stuff as it is. (This is for 9 of us, including DD).
I am considering making a dip of some sort as an appetizer, but haven't decided yet.

Other than stuffing the only Thanksgiving food I get excited about is broccoli and Velveta with Ritz crackers- white trash and oh so delicious. But MIL never lets us bring anything. Her meals are super classy and everything has to be planned perfectly and there is no room for something so tacky! Really I should be thankful, she is a wonderful cook and hosts beautiful holidays. I told H we were making it for dinner the night before.
We're hosting this year for DH's family and my mom. My side of the family is doing a big one at my sisters the Sunday after. I'll be making: Turkey mashed potatoes Gravy roasted broccoli cheesecake
Going to buy: Kings Hawaiian rolls pumpkin pie
Mil is going to bring: Ham stuffing sweet potato casserole
It's also my birthday that day so somebody better be bringing me a present for getting up early and cooking all day
I'm a lil surprised at having ham and turkey on turkey day.
But I hate ham.
This reminds me me and my DH were interviewed as children for the paper about our favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving. I said ham. I still prefer ham to turkey but am not making it for Thanksgiving this year. I'm going to try to find the picture because it's hilarious even though I look like a weirdo.
Our menu is still in flux. Mr. Turkey has just to be found and I'm too bull headed to buy one. I swear they know the exact day hunting started. A duck is our back up protein.
Stuffed mushrooms bacon wrapped chicken nibbles (DH requested this) goat cheese dip with crisps Spinach dip and veggies what ever else friends bring
@flyingtoast - What is bacon wrapped chicken nibbles?
I get some chicken tenders, cut them into inch-ish cubes, dredge in a savory blend of seasonings and brown sugar, wrap in bacon, and bake it in the oven. DH is obsessed with anything bacon wrapped right now.

I'm really liking @bepandnick 's poinsettia. I can't decide if I should rename it, tell my guests Christmas is here, or hoard it for myself.
This is a very easy recipe, but a bit time intensive. It reheats well acording to DH.
