Sex (TMI)

Going on 11 weeks and have tried sex but haven't been able to complete because it has hurt! Any suggestions besides lots of lube? When will it get better? Fourth degree tear didn't help...

Re: Sex (TMI)

  • Yikes!! I haven't even tried yet and I'm almost 13pp and I had a second degree tear and episiotomy. I'm not ready to go there yet. I'm in the mood but am dreading it and I'm still too tired to give up sleep to try! Haha

  • I wish I could help. I felt like it was worse than being a virgin again. It does get better- because I don't know anyone that became celibate after having a child. Hang in there, keep trying, and there are some women on here with lube recommendations. We just use Preseed and lots of it.

  • I had a 2nd degree tear and it barely bothered me at 7 weeks pp when we went for it. Use lube and go slow. I use Sliquid but I know @lappyfoinker uses a different brand that she swears by.

  • All the massages, all the foreplay, and all the coconut oil (we use as lube). If it helps, it felt good for like 5 seconds by the tenth time we had sex pp. I'll let you know if I ever hit more than 5 seconds ever again :-S
  • We haven't completed the deed yet. Tried 4 times now until I said uncle. Last time was the best try yet though but I'm sure he was like half way in. I will say that trying out different positions at least made it interesting.

  • I think we need someone to try both and confirm that my lube is the best. ;)

I think we do need someone to confirm Sliquid is the best of the best ;-)

  • 13 weeks out after lots of painful times but sticking with it, it finally feels back to normal and good again. It was so painful to start I was convinced I was broken. That's normal and it will get better!! MH and I use sliquid lube as well and it's great.

Lol to "until I said uncle". haha.... can you imagine?! SO funny!
Do you mean like literally saying "uncle?" Cause I guess that might be a little creepy...

  • I'm really glad I'm not the only one! Last night was try #4 and it was the best yet. H finished at least....

I had 3 external 2nd degree tears and 2 internal 2nd degree tears. My V frigging hurts yo!

The last time I went to the Dr I told her how bad it still was. She checked me out and gave me some estrogen cream to help it heal up (I'm BF and this does not affect my supply, fyi). I'm only in the first week using it, but I think it's helping.

Question though: any of you ladies with mirena had your H/SO complain about the strings being painful when doing the deed?

  • Usually, if I can push through the initial pain it will get better. I know eventually things should get back to normal and the more we attempt it the better things are getting.

  • @NLewis1 I think I am going to have to call my OB and try to get myself some of that estrogen cream! You would think I would be fine because I had a c-section, but nope! I feel like a postmenopausal woman.  Dang EBF!

That cream made all the difference for me. :)
  • I'm sorry! It's the worst! Are you breastfeeding? I was the same as you...it kept getting worse and worse-eventually unbearable! Went to my OB who said I was really red in there! Neg for yeast infection and bacterial infection so she thinks it's just low estrogen dryness. Been using Premarin cream now for a week...gonna give it another week and see if better.

I may volunteer. Links to where I can purchase please...
I'm not sure which store has the best price but you can check out sliquid.com. We use the natural h2o (blue label).

My DH does! Sometimes it'll poke him in the hole, sometimes it gets moved aside. He said it felt like a thin wire or something. =( My OB is going to trim it when I go back for a follow up appointment so we're hoping it'll get better from there!

The first time I had mirena the wires were trimmed short. DO explained it like a needle :( so I went in and she trimmed them way into my cervix. This time we thought we would leave them long and she later them across my cervix. Nope. DO says sometimes they move and he gets the needle feeling again :(

  • I'm terrified just reading this! We haven't done the deed in almost 16 weeks (the day before LO was born). We attempted it one day in the shower but we are still in the clearing him out stage after his vasectomy so I don't think I would be able to enjoy it anyway because I would be paranoid about getting pregnant again. My irrational fear comes from having a birth control baby. But when it is time I may need to investigate the super lubes mentioned.

  • Hubbs could feel and would sometimes dislodge my nuvaring.

Mine would get stuck on him! I took it out during sex and put it back in right after. Never going back to that thing!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who did this! I had that thing for years though and loved it except for that.
  • My friend had nuvaring and said it fell out a few times while pooping. Just thought that whole process seemed gross...

  • I loved nuvaring. I never had issues with it falling out. I wish it could be used during BF.

  • I guess to me it would sometimes feel like it was working itself out and in doing so, it would hit a nerve and hurt.

  • I just pushed through the pain and by the 4th or 5th time, it didn't hurt anymore.
