Co-sleeper frustration

Please endure this long story I feel the need to share before asking for suggestions: DH and I are pro co-sleeping and DH actually wants LO as close to us as possible. I also think this would ease the process of night time feedings and such, but I want baby boy to be safe and I think our bed isn't big enough for him to bed share with us and it would make me nervous anyways. So I did some research and found my "dream co-sleeper". It's made my culla belly and attaches to the bed (we are also dealing with very minimal room between our bed and walls so whatever we choose has to be small). I went all over the internet trying to purchase the dang thing only to find out it doesn't even exist! The design was at some invention competition or something and was never manufactured! What the heck?! So now I'm back to square one exploring my options. I would love to find something similar instead of a bassinet. Please give me your suggestions! I attached a pic (hopefully you can see it) of the culla belly one that doesn't exist.

Could you or your husband build something like this? This is $325 but it doesn't look that sturdy. It does actually attach to the bed though instead of being free-standing.

Out of the box suggestion warning*

For a friend who only had a studio & no room for actual baby items. I bolted a laundry basket to her nightstand & used a changing pad as a mattress. Crude but, extremely efficient.

We have the Arms reach mini co sleeper. We have a small bedroom and it worked very nicely for us. My sister also used it for her two kids and really liked it too.

We are actually getting a Stokke Sleepi and using it on the toddler bed setting.

When DS was little we used our rock n' play. It was tall enough that I could reach him easily for nursing without getting out of bed and I was able to rock him when he was a little fussy. It would be nice for a small space too because it snaps closed very easily. This pic is not me and DS, but it is the rock n play we have and shows the height pretty well.

The arms reach mini co sleeper worked great for us.. we also had a smaller room and I'm not a fan or larger beds for baby's -we also have a queen bed- and found this to work wonderfully. I had a c-section so I couldn't move around too much and still having my son close by was very important with this little bed that attached to our bed for safety I could easily reach down and grab him. The greatest thing if that is lightweight and portable so if you travel you can take it with you and it also can be used as a mini playpen.. great all around!
