Trouble TTC

Here we go...IUI #1

So after 6 months, my RE is moving me from 100mg of Clomid and timed intercourse to 50mg with a trigger shot and IUI. I was only able to take Clomid twice in the last 6 months because of my dumbass ovaries and the cysts they enjoy growing, and since I am 35+ she thought it was time to get a little more aggressive. I agree with the ramping up, just a bit hard to accept I guess. I always figured I would be one of those "just needed the tiniest of pushes" kind of people... oh well.

It is strange  - I am so over this whole "I can't get pregnant thing", but still a bit freaked out by moving to the next stage. Anyone else feel this way?

  • I haven't moved to medicated cycles, but I understand being apprehensive of the next move. Good luck with the iui! FX it is the "tiny" push you need,

  • I just started testing on my end. We found out over the summer DH low sperm count. I just had lab work last week and my FSH is high, follicle is low, and thyroid is slightly low. Because of the thyroid being slightly low I have to take Synthroid. I also have low vitamin D and have to take Vitamin D3. Anyways, the nurse said we'll need aggressive treatment. We will more than likely skip IUI and go right to IVF. I'm having a hard time facing this is our reality. It's difficult hearing we're going right to IVF. I get it that this is good to skip IUI but the infertility stamp is hard to swallow. If we do IVF DH and I want to just go for twins so we don't have to go through this hell again.
  • I felt very weird about moving from Clomid + TI to IUI as well. My RE actually wanted us to start with IUIs but I wanted to start less invasive (and less expensive). I'm on board with it he IUI now but sometimes I feel like each time we escalate treatment it's just one more thing that hasn't worked for us.
