Thanksgiving poll

A few weeks ago we talked about our Thanksgiving plans. Today I was wondering anyone was changing their plans now that baby is here. Four days ago I was prepared to cancel Thanksgiving but now that I'm feeling better I would never dream of it.

I picked I really like to click things because I do. Also, I would keep my plans in any other situation, but Cam isn't supposed to be around people until he's done with his respiration meds which won't be until after turkey day.

IT all depends on when LO comes. If she comes too close to t day (23rd at the latest, that would be induction day) and I'm a weepy mess, I'll probably stay home. Otherwise my plan is to go to the inlaws, who live .5 miles away. I can always go and then bail and go home, depending on how I'm feeling, but I hope to go and enjoy some company and time out of the house.

I still have an inside baby...although I certainly hope she's here by Thanksgiving. Assuming she is here, we're just going to play things by ear. Either way, we won't do any big family gatherings. Most likely, we'll just go to my parents' house where there won't be many people...just my sisters, BIL, nephews, and maybe one of my grandmas.

SS. My SIL is actually due the day before Thanksgiving...plans are to go to the in laws if dinner is a possibility. (I.e. She's not in labor, etc) so we're a "play it by ear" family this year lol

Baby is still inside, but will be out before Thanksgiving. (I'm already 41w1d, so if she doesn't come on her own, she's getting evicted soon.)

We will be going to family Thanksgiving. It's always pot-luck, so I plan on something really quick & easy this year.

Just all depends on when LO comes, I'm due on the 28th which is the day after thanksgiving. So if he comes early I prolly won't do anything for thanksgiving. If he comes on or after my due date then we will stick to our plans which are for the day before thanksgiving at FI's sister's house. But right now it's up in the air (:

Our plans have been up in the air all month. Little girl is due Tuesday but will be induced on the 24th if she doesn't come first. We may have to skip my parents (1 hour away) on Thanksgiving day but will be at my in-laws (across town, maybe 5 miles at most) that weekend. It will depend on how I'm feeling and how Little Girl is doing; as well as when she actually comes.

Originally I said no way would we attend thanksgiving if we had a days-old baby (orig due date was 11/28). Since lil man will be 2wks old at TDay now, we might just make a brief appearance.

A lot will depend on the other kids who will be there & their illness (10, 7, 2, 8wks).

Thankfully, we only live 5miles from dhs gma's house where TDay is celebrated.

Still up in the air. We're still redefining our traditions, so plans are mush until the last minute. There were a couple of years that I've just thrown a roast in the crock pot for whenever my husband & I are ready to eat (with enough to share with a drop-in or two) and that has worked really well for us. He usually comes home from hunting that day, so it's hard to set a dinner time, and after a week in the woods he's not really up for stopping anywhere else on his way home.
Last year my bright, shiny new niece came home from the hospital on Turkey day, so the immediate family all brought & fixed dinner for them that Saturday. I would not deny that opportunity... but our little girl will be 6 weeks old, so it may be hard to play that card. One can dream. I've become such a home body!

Inside baby! But if LO comes this week, then we will spend a quiet day home and our local grocery store will make our meal. If I'm induced on the 26th, I will get to experience the savory holiday offerings of our hospital, but I'm sure when we get home we'll still have the grocery store thanksgiving meal. It will probably just be on Sunday or Monday.

Our baby is here early so we've decided to have everyone at our house for thanksgiving. We will order the turkey from Greenberg and everyone else is bringing a side. By everyone I mean parents and siblings only. So...8 people total, no kids.

I am going to Parkers thanksgiving this year! We usually go to my aunts, but she is having knee surgery.

Currently still have an inside baby. Due on the infamous 11/28 and the doc has told us I will not go past my due date. But that could mean going to my due date. We aren't sure yet. She was out of town for my appointment last week and we won't see her again until Friday when I'm 39 weeks. My husband and I have guessed that she will offer to do a membrane sweep that day in the office and if that doesn't bring the baby out then she might want to induce early that next week. I don't think she would plan for baby to come on Thanksgiving or for us to be in the hospital for Thanksgiving, but you never know.

So the plans are all up in the air but at the moment Thanksgiving dinner is set for Thanksgiving day at my parents' house with a small group (my parents, sister and her boyfriend, grandpa and step grandma and I think that's it). It is my other sister's year to go to her in-laws a couple hours away. And then my husband's extended family has plans for the Saturday after to celebrate Thanksgiving and one of the kids' birthday since his dad has him that weekend.

Right now, as long as I feel up to it if baby is here, I'm okay with going to my small family gathering. Not sure yet about the bigger family gathering with children. We weren't able to get our baby wrap at a store in St. Louis that helps you find the right one for you before I was told no more traveling so I don't have a way to baby wear at the moment. Hopefully we can get to that store before Christmas.

Inside baby so it depends. If she comes soon, and I feel up to it then we will go. If she doesn't come for another week then probably cancel plans. Not going to take out a few days old baby.

My mom is already in town, my Brother, Dad, MIL, and FIL will all be in town for Thanksgiving week and day to meet the baby and do dinner at our house. BIL + new girlfriend live in town and will be joining as well. But there is a tiny chance that once LO arrives I might say screw it and change the plan.

It will end up being a little crazy either way. 10 adults, 1 baby, 2 dogs, 2 cats, thankfully we have a big house. I do find it funny though that when we bought the house and got a dinning room table that could seat 8, I thought it would be plenty big. Live and learn

We have no plans whatsoever. Family was crazy enough to suggest we host, which I just laughed at. Luke will be three weeks old tomorrow and I'm just starting to feel human. Just because it's our first year in our home on thanksgiving does not mean I want everyone over. Not to mention a newborn and two other little ones. No thanks! Maybe next year!
