  • Depends on when the twins actually fall asleep in the first place but typically 3 times per night each.

Curious... do they get up together so you're up 3 times? Or are you up 6 times? Which I think means you must never ever ever sleep :(

Typically they are up independently which means 6 feelings & very little sleep :( The times they are up together I will tandem feed though! Occasionally I will wake one if they have been sleeping for a bit & tandem feed just to catch a break! It's better than piggy backing their feelings.

  • I voted 1, but sometimes 2, depending on what you consider MOTN. Like, tonight, she ate at 10, we are up at 4, and she'll probably sleep until at least 7 or 8. I'll go back to sleep after that though.

During the week, she's been eating around 8, up again once, then my husband will fed her before he goes to work at 6 so I can sleep until 9 or 10. So for me during the week is technically 2 times, but for my husband who leaves at 630, it's 1.

    So. Confusing.

You make me want to die.

And if I'm keeping tabs on you correctly, I don't remember you ever complaining...
I know you struggled greatly! I'm sorry things didn't work out for you but you gave it your all & that's what matters most! It's not an easy thing to do nor is the decision to FF. You just have to do what is right for your situation & move on! It doesn't make you any less of a parent or mother!

I try not to complain but I have had many of many ugly cries! I feel lucky that I'm able to BF especially given the trauma I had after their birth! Hell I'm lucky to be alive for that matter!

Oops. Then it's more in the 2 to 3 range. I screwed up the poll!

  • Usually twice for 30-40 minutes each time.
  • Almost always twice, usually around 2:30 and once around 5.

Sometimes he won't go to sleep until 9 or 10 though and will still have the two wake-ups to eat.

  • I thought if it as from 10pm-7am too, and voted three on average. Sometimes it's four , sometimes two but mostly seems to be three. If it's 7pm-7am is say five as she tanks up before bed.

  • We have been trying to get LO to go to sleep at a better time at night...we gave her a bath tonight which helped. She has been awake from 10-1 am every night this week and very alert, so she gets cranky when I try to put her down to sleep. I woke her up with a bath an hour earlier today so she fell asleep at midnight.

Then she usually will wake up once around 4-5 then sleep til 8:30 or 9.

Since we are supplementing with formula I usually feed her at 10 then go to bed, and DH only wakes me up if she gets hungry after midnight. So I usually get to sleep from 10-4 uninterrupted, which is amazing!

I guess I screwed up the poll too. I put 1 because LO feess around 12:30 before going back to sleep and right now that's when I finally go to sleep. If its 7-7 though I would say 3-4. She eats at 6, then can have 1-2 more feeds until 10, then another at 12:30. She swwms to cluster her feeds a little between 6-12:30 every night. Oh and then wakes up at 6am.
  • DS wakes up 3 times. Usually about 11:30, 2:30, and 4. We get up for the day about 5:30.
  • He's usually up three times between 8pm and 6am. I wish he slept a little later in the mornings.

  • You all are amazing mommies!!! :D

DS is up 2-3 times per night to nurse. He wakes around 1am, around 4am, and sometimes between 5 and 6am he'll wake all gassy and fussy and we'll be up for the day. Those mornings are not my favorite. ;)

  • I'm jealous of all of the 1-2 people, we are at 3-4 a night. Typically the first feeding is quick and easy, but the following feedings she can be awake for up to an hour bc she fights sleep.

It is kind of funny to watch, her eyes start to close and the she furrows her brows like oh hell no sleep and then screams herself awake and then content to stare at me.

  • Usually twice. . Once around 2-3 and once around 5-6.. then she sleeps till about 8-830 :)

I feed him twice, but they are dream feeds. I hear grunting and feed him, and he goes back to sleep. We bedshare, so it makes it super convenient. He doesn't officially go down until 11 or so, even though we lie down at 9.
  • I voted 3, but it varies between 3 and 5 wake ups. I count from 10pm onward.

  • Sometimes 2, sometimes 3. But, if one wakes up, I wake up the other two. I follow the "one up, all up" rule. I would not get an ounce of sleep if I didn't!

I was wondering where you were unless we're just never on the same threads
  • Typically twice, but length of time awake varies greatly. On unicorn baby nights, she is awake for about half an hour. Then, there was last night when she slept for a single, two hour block and was awake for 10 hours.

  • I get up once but we go to bed late. I put him down between 11:00 and 12:00 and he wakes up between 4:20 and 5:40 am. Then most days he will go back down for an hour or two and then we are up all day with the exception of a few 30 min naps.
  • Dude... If we are talking 7p to 7a, it's more like 5 times. Ugh. So tired.

I feel ya, Crawford! My LO is up literally every 60-90 minutes and has been for a couple of weeks. Breastfeeding has been SO painful and I feel so exhausted from it all. Wondering when these magical 3-4 hour stretches are going to begin. So hard to stay positive!
They will start soon @sweetadeline31‌.. And the longer the stretches, the worse your boobs will hurt! ;)

  • Usually just once. He typically falls asleep around 9 and will sleep through anywhere from 2-5. He eats for about 10 minutes and then goes back to sleep until about 6:30.

  • It depends on when you define overnight but she usually falls asleep for good around midnight, then we sleep until about 6, then she eats again and sleeps until 9 or 10. The times vary but for the last week or so I have been so lucky to be getting 5 or 6 hour stretches. She eats very frequently during the day though.

  • Asleep between 8-9. Up between 12-2 for 20-30 minutes and again between 4-6 for 20-30 minutes. I take the 10-2 shift and DH takes the 3-7 shift. She usually then sleeps in until 9-10 wherein I get to pump, take a shower, and have a coffee/breakfast. Our unicorn thankfully sleeps 4-5 hour stretches at night and then goes back to sleep after a change and a nurse.

  • This was hard because LO is still very unpredictable and is still up A LOT. She is five weeks old and still usually only sleeps 1.5 to 2 hours at a time (unless someone is holding her). However, I have hope! Three nights ago she did a 3.5 hour stretch. The next night was awful, but then last night she did 4, then 3, then 2 hour stretches! It was amazing!! Hoping for more of the same this week!

  • Usually 3 times, around 11, 2, and 5. Sometimes I go to sleep before the 11 and sometimes not.

Our son is still eating approx every 3 hrs. He typically eats 6, 9, 12, 3, 6, 9. I only count the 3 and 6 am as MOTN feedings. My husband handles the midnight one. These times can sometimes shift by an hour.

Wow I would love to have some semblance of a schedule like this. DD eats on demand and it's all over the place.
