Absolutely flabergasted!

We had dinner at the IL's tonight. I can't have dairy, they know it, I still couldn't eat most of the food. But the part that gets me the most about our evening was when FIL light up his marijuana pipe while I was sitting next to him holding my sleeping baby! H freaked out when it happened and almost made me drop the baby, but I was happy he finally spoke up. This was after MIL had been outside smoking and came back in and just took the baby from me but I didn't realize she had been smoking until after she took him. I can't understand how they don't get it. DON'T SMOKE AROUND MY KIDS!!

Not cool. I ended up with asthma from too much secondhand smoke living with my grandparents. My Gpa was a chain smoker at the time.

Btw i love that word. Flabbergasted. It tickles ha! Enough of my weirdness now...>.<

We used a nanny for the last two weeks since my daycare couldn't take him yet. When interviewing, I specifically asked if she smoked and she said no. Day 3 into the job she reaked of it at end of day & DH found a lighter in the powder room. I was so pissed! I had already paid upfront and really felt screwed. My mother smoked and I remember as a kid crying for her to throw it out on our way to school - especially in the winter! Bleh!

This is a fight H and I have had so many times in the last 2.5 years. He used to smoke and couldn't understand why I would freak out about his mom smoking when he did it too, but I could make him shower and change his clothes before being around DS1 and I can't say anything to his mom. I was shocked when he yelled at his dad tonight and it felt really uncomfortable, but I was glad he did it finally. It blows my mind that they can't wait the two hours we were there to smoke.
@cachoque‌ I would be super pissed about being lied to by the person hired to watch my kid! My MIL smokes when they come babysit and it pisses me off. Especially since they only do it maybe once every 3 months.

Ugh I feel your pain. My MIL and her bf are both chain (inside the house) smokers! YUCK! I will not take lo there. I refuse. It's terrible. And when she comes to visit my whole apartment REEKS. Even though she doesn't smoke in my place. Just everything smells. Even lo after she holds him. It's so gross.
