I know their have been discussions on outerwear, but I'm mobile and couldn't find it. The babies are going to be transitioning from the carriers to a convertible car seat, and I'm not sure which would be better. I thought the winter coats, but DH is pushing for snowsuits. We are in illinois so we get pretty harsh weather.
Re: Winter coat vs snowsuit
She won't keep a blanket on, she just kicks them off, so I wanted the extra warmth for when she'll be exposed to the cold and winter for longer periods of time.

I have a snowsuit for LO for use in the stroller for outdoor walks or actual playing in the snow if we do that this winter.
When we get out of the car, I assess the weather and what we're doing. If we are just running into the mall, I just wrap a blanket on him and go in.
If we are going to be out for a while I may have the snowsuit and stroller ready. (One piece snowsuit with fold over hands and feet )

When we do spend time outside, we have a down puffer coat. And I got a snow suit second hand, as I doubt I'll use it much, though I'd definitely recommend getting snow pants next year. As long as she's not getting soaked, DD1 loves the snow and we have a blast spending time outside.
