Post Pardom anyone?

I haven't been on much, my dd was two months premature and it's been so rough. I can't get used to her being home is anyone feeling overwhelmed or maybe post Pardom?

I was prescribed lexapro and it made me worse so I've stopped I've just started to run and take vitamins again. I can never seem to sooth my baby she has reflux and is so fussy . I feel so fatigue . Is anyone else going through this ? How are you getting through it ?

Re: Post Pardom anyone?

  • May I add she is 3 months but 7 weeks adjusted , she's my first baby and sometimes I forget to only expect her to be like a 7 week old . For anyone who's gone through the toughness does it get better ?

  • I'm sorry things have been so rough. There is a really great PPD thread where other women have shared their post partum struggles. Reading their stories could be a little encouraging. I think the title is PPD/adjustment.

  • Thank u I'm going to look !
  • Sounds like a tough situation on top of having a newborn and dealing with those adjustments too. Can you ask your doctor for another scrip?
When I was prescribed meds for my anxiety, the first drug made them way worse but the second one helped immensely. Give it a chance to find the right med for you if you still need it.

    Good luck

  • Yes! My twins were two months early and one has terrible reflux. We started him on Zantac and two bottles of efamil "gentle" each day. His other six bottles are breast milk. The screaming though! Ugh, the screaming... And back arching.. Etc. it's horrible. I think there's an element of depression in many of us NICU moms. This whole experience just isn't how we imagined it, and now we are home with babies, some of whom have health problems, and it is tough. Get the number of an awesome therapist and try to get a break every now and then. I've started meeting friends every two weeks for happy hour... Those two hours and two beers (ok sometimes three) also help keep me sane.
