Prescription Drugs to Increase Milk Supply

i feel like I have exhausted my over the counter solutions for increasing milk supply, and the lactation consultant I have been working with agrees. She mentioned today discussing using a prescription drug to increase my milk supply, and discussing this with my OB.

However, reading some of the side effects make me nervous. Has anyone taken a prescription drug to help with milk supply? How did it work for you and what was your experience with the side effects?

    I would never take metoclopramide for anything other than its indicated use. 

    Sulpiride isn't something I would mess around with as it is present in breast milk.  I would assume low doses are used for lactation (I mean, you don't want to get near the dosages used to treat schizophrenia). There's something about taking anti-psychotics while breastfeeding that makes me a bit uneasy.

    Obviously you should discuss the risk-benefit profile with your physician, but I wouldn't touch any of these while breastfeeding.

    @SPurp13‌ that's definitely my main concern. I was going to bring it up with my OB and try and get more information on the side effects and likelihood before I make any decisions .. but I am extremely hesitant to take these prescriptions based on what I read on Kelly Mom. She is a happy and healthy baby with the tiny bit of breast milk I do give her and the formula supplement.

    I take Reglan for my stomach motility disorder. I am very wary of the potential side effects and would never take it if it weren't the only thing that kept me able to eat solids.
