keeping water warm at night?

How are you keeping water for formula warm at night? Someone mentioned a thermos but I am trying to stay away from plastic. There's probably an obvious answer for an insulated container but I don't drink coffee so nothing is coming to mind.
Room temp was working for us but it's getting cold. We have a bottle warmer but it's a pain to go downstairs in the MOTN and wait for the warmer.

Re: keeping water warm at night?

  • Could u bring the bottle warmer upstairs for the night and plug it in by the bed? And keep a Brita pitcher or something like that filled with room temp water that you could use to make the bottle, then just warm it? If not, they make stainless steel insulated containers (like a thermos) that would work...
  • Loading the player...
  • I assume you use something other than straight tap water? I just let the faucet run until it's warm and use that. You can find metal thermoses though, they are all that I buy. I don't think I've ever seen a plastic one.

  • My LO doesn't mind a cold bottle, so I just pre-make the bottle and keep it in a cooler bag (think insulated lunch bag), in our room. I did have a bottle warmer in our room, but after a while, it didn't seem like he cared.  He just wanted his food pronto, so I stopped warming it. Like pp said, maybe you could just bring the warmer up at night or buy an extra warmer.
  • We just used room temperature water... and if needed, a bottle warmer. Our bottle warmer heated a bottle in about 2 min, maybe a little less.
  • Thanks! I thought most thermoses had plastic insides so I will have to check into that. We use filtered water from the fridge water dispenser so warming up with the faucet wouldn't work for us.
