I'm timid about formally sharing information about myself in an "intro" post, so this isn't much of an intro.
But I am happy to be here and to potentially help others, so rather than having the shortest intro post ever, I'd like to use my intro to share some things I've learned that I didn't find on the newbie blog and ask you guys a question. Maybe it will help some fellow newbies and bumpies.
1. When to post a peestick can be confusing and often results in hurt and anger on both the askers and the answerers sides. There is a "Am I Pregnant?" flowchart in the newbie guides but it doesn't fully address the board etiquette and when its ok to post peesticks. If there were a "I have a Peestick" flowchart it might go something like this:
-Is your peestick an OPK peestick or an HPT peestick? [OPK, HPT, Not sure]
-Did you follow the peestick manufacturing directions exactly as directed? [yes, no]
-Is your peestick positive? [Yes, No, Not sure]
-Do most of the people on the board/thread where you want to share your peestick know and care about you? [Yes, No, Not sure]
-Have you been consistently helping the others on this board/thread? [Yes, No, Not sure]
-Have you lurked long enough to have seen the possible reactions (good and bad) to posting a peestick in this board/thread? [Yes, No]
2. Until you've been a member for 3+ days, when you hit the "Reply" button nothing will happen. You won't be able to reply to posts nor create your own posts until then.
3. The "Need a name change? Click Here" link in the "read this before you post" thread is broken. If you need a name change, you can change your username over at the knot and it will reflect over here on the bump (thanks to mod slappiness for this suggestion)
4. The TB glossary is missing a few acronyms: AL (still not sure what it means, saw it in 2WW threads), ED/EOD ("Every Day", "Every Other Day", ..for awhile I thought EOD meant "End of Day")
5. If it seems like people are being mean to you, take a moment to ask yourself if it might be your own fault that they are being mean and if it is your fault then just correct your behavior and move on. Don't try to defend your mistake.
What was the most important lesson you learned while you lurked? Or if you've been around a long time and can't remember your lurking days, what is the most annoying mistake newbies these days make?

Re: Intro & Question: What did you learn lurking these boards?
Just say hi, be active, give support, and be yourself.
Welcome and good luck!
Welcome!
I learned about the importance of temping and what the heck the changes in CM mean.
I also learned (I think) that brunch means you eat breakfast AND lunch foods, together? I always thought it meant it was a time when you could go out with people where some wanted to eat breakfast and some wanted to eat lunch.

Welcome or whatever.
'Ask yourself if it's your fault people are mean?'
Just no.
What is the matter with you all!?
Nobody here bullies. I wish people would stop throwing that term around on here.
Welcome?
Toughen up, buttercup, if you actually paid more attention to how the board works instead of being so self-absorbed you would've known how that would turn out.
So now I ask, lucy, what is the matter with you?
Not?
Can you ask her if not actually rhymes with hawt? I'm still not sure.
I actually just went through the entire alphabet to make sure I had the right word.
Do NOT Post: HPT pee sticks, positive or negative, especially negative. If you get a positive, we're all happy for you but would be glad for you to post that pee stick in the 1st Trimester board. I think the basic consensus is that people don't want to see a picture of things that have urine all over them.
Do NOT Ask: "Am I Pregnant? HPT is negative, but symptoms make me feel positive, what is going on?
Do NOT Assume: that you know when you're ovulating, unless you are charting and temping, making a discussion by saying I know when I O'd because I use an app and I know that first date of my period is likely to piss people off and have them tell you to go read a book or buy a thermometer.
What I've Learned: Everyone makes the mistake at some point of experiencing PMS symptoms (nausea, headache, fatigue, breast tenderness, etc) and thinks it's because they're pregnant, not because they're about to get their period. If this happens, wait to discuss these things until you're late for a period and have taken an HPT. If the test is negative, keep these things to yourself, unless it's to post about how you really thought this month was the one.
Some people can be snippy and may seem cold, but this board has a lot of member who have had a lot of trouble getting pregnant, so please be sensitive to that when you post things.
Please clarify because no. We just have little tolerance for stupidity, being used as a personal google, and newbs going ape shit when we dont feed them glitter filled cupcakes.
The way its worded and is coming off is rubbing me the wrong way.

In all seriousness, I hope you stick around and continue to learn from some very knowledgeable people. I know I did (and still am)!
My biggest take away from lurking in here is using FF and make sure I READ EVERYTHING before asking others.

I believe you resorted to name calling on your previous thread. Great way to be an adult. Time for you to learn this isn't the right place for you!!
After being talked to disgustingly. Don't like people biting back?
