Cloth Diapering

Rash WWYD

L has finally started sleeping longer stretches at night, so I put him in a Bamboozle Wednesday night. He was in it for 6-8 hours. When he woke up, his diaper area was covered in pink splotches with some dark pink bumps. I immediately thought I was yeast, so I covered him in Lotrimin and A&D and switched to disposables. By evening, the spots were gone but the splotches were still there. On Friday I didn't use the Lotrimin bc I thought it might just be wetness sensitivity or ammonia. Just using A&D, it still looks better, but the splotchy parts are very dry and peeling. I think we're probably not dealing with yeast, but now I need to figure out what to do for nights. The kicker is that I *just* got this bamboozle and my S'bish fitteds back from a friend. She told me she washed them with bleach when they got done using them, so I washed them in a regular diaper load to get out any possible bleach residue. Could it be that there is still a lit of bleach left? The diapers are definitely whiter than when I loaned them to her; the once ivory-colored bamboozle is practically white. Or could this just be too much wetness for too long?

Re: Rash WWYD

  • Maybe wash them alone with lots of rinses? I'm assuming this hasn't happened to her before with diapers you did not loan out?

I also coat R in coconut oil before bed which seems to help us, even more than diaper cream.

  • @AFwifelife‌ I have no idea, and I'm afraid I'll hurt her feelings if I ask.

@Brandiewine11‌ He has some redness bn the cheeks now and then, but this was definitely the first really ugly rash he's had.
