I just finished Coraline and Grave Mercy by Robin Lafevers. I'm moving on to Anne of Green Gables next. What is everyone reading? Any recommendations? I usually have a few books going at once.
I didn't read this, but I listened to Yes, Please by Amy Poehler on audiobook. I liked it a lot. However, I'm not sure the format works as well in the physical book. It jumps around a lot, so that may be why it received negative reviews. I didn't read them.
But if you like Amy, I would recommend the audio version.
I'm going to the library today to pick up Devil in the White City and The Monster of Florence. I have a weird fascination with true crime books. Both of these received good reviews so I'm excited to start them.
If you like Anne of Green Gables, get the Emily of New Moon trilogy by the same author. It's fabulous. I just finished Don't Breathe A Word by Jennifer McMahon and that was good.
I just got The Hunger Games on my kobo because I could get the trilogy for $5. I am so behind the times. I just looked and I literally have 12 books I haven't read but bought for my kobo. I love to read but never seem to make the time anymore. I hope to pick it up again.
The last book I read was "Sickened". It's an autobiography about a girl who's mother had munchausen syndrome. Really good read.
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal, by Christopher Moore. I'm not very far into it, but it's pretty funny so far and came highly recommended.
I haven't heard of this before, but the title makes it sound hilarious!
I'm reading All the Light You Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. It's about a young blind French girl and a young German soldier in WW II, and involves the girl's family's efforts to keep a priceless diamond from being taken by the Germans. It's very well-written, and the story is really interesting so far.
I'm on a book shopping spree now. DH wanted to read The Round House too so I went a head and bought it. I'll probably end up buying Yes, Please too. I put a hold on the Lamb book and the second book in the Graceling series. I also checked out a YA book called Tennyson by Lesley Blume. There is something about it that reminds of V.C. Andrews. I miss the old V.C. Andrews books. I need to rebuild my collection.
If you like non fiction, I'm really loving Mayflower. The first chapter or so is slow and I actually put it down for a couple months. Once they settle in the colony, it gets really good.

Devil in the White City is one of my favorite books. I'd also recommend The Alienist if you haven't read it.

I read both of these . fascinating reads. Enjoy!
I didn't know any poehler wrote a book. Got to read that!
@shella923 The China Study turned my parents vegan.
I am finishing up Rick Riordan's last Hereos of Olympus book. I loved this series. Next up is Death Comes to Pemberly since I just watched the PBS movie.
I just started Fables. Still technically in the middle of The Help, but I keep forgetting to pick it up when I'm sober and alone. Those two things don't often go together.
I'm in the middle of The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe. It isn't my favorite by him, at all, but I'm forcing myself to finish. I just bought Bossypants by Tina Fey, and Mr. Mercedes and The Revival by Stephen King. Those are up next.
I think I'm getting the whole Outlander series for Christmas, so my lofty goal is to finish the former before them.
I also have the following in my stack...and I need to stop buying books so I'm forced to read them:
Catch 22 - Joseph Heller
Back to Blood - Tom Wolfe
The Lacuna - Barbara Kingsolver
Bossypants is really cute. And Catch-22 is an amazing book!

@MrsButt That looks like a really good book. It's going on my list if the library doesn't have it. Thanks!
@AllWasWell Anne of Green Gables is awesome. I love the books and movies. I can't get enough.
@TheRunningGinger I loved Devil in the White City. True crime is one of my favorite things to read. Historical crime fascinates me so much.
Idani That sounds like a great way to spend the day. It's freezing here so I'll probably end up doing the same.
