My 10mo has been refusing the breast and it has been 4 days. He'll nurse in the morning but after that he will accept the breast and flutter suck for 10 seconds and then pull off and fuss/cry. I don't feel he is ready to self-wean but I fear that I'll dry up! I pump but don't pump enough therefore I imagine my supply will decrease.
Any tips or suggestions for getting back to the boob?
Re: Nursing strike, day 4. Need encouragement!
so what do you do when baby refuses to nurse?
When my LO gets fussy and doesn't want to nurse, it's always the last session of the day (before bed). She fusses, cries and pushes away. I take a 10-15 minute break and we do something else, like play, take a little walk around the house, etc. And, then I try again which sometimes works. Is there anything else I should be trying?
FYI: I am starting to wean and she's only nursing now in the morning and evening. I was trying to see how long I could go with limited nursing sessions but it seems like she's loving the milk from the bottle instead of me. It hurts my heart... even though it was my decision to begin the weaning.
