  Offering frequently, like every hour, not forcing it, and doing lots of skin to skin helped us. Check out the FAQs on the LLL website, that helped calm me down and following their suggestions seemed to help.   so what do you do when baby refuses to nurse?

  When my LO gets fussy and doesn't want to nurse, it's always the last session of the day (before bed). She fusses, cries and pushes away. I take a 10-15 minute break and we do something else, like play, take a little walk around the house, etc. And, then I try again which sometimes works. Is there anything else I should be trying?

  FYI: I am starting to wean and she's only nursing now in the morning and evening. I was trying to see how long I could go with limited nursing sessions but it seems like she's loving the milk from the bottle instead of me. It hurts my heart... even though it was my decision to begin the weaning.

  Thanks so much ladies! He has returned to the breast though he's taking less so I have to pump supplement with a bottle. I'm so relieved that he is taking some from the boob because I really am not ready to stop nursing! I'll enjoy the time I have with him and hope that if it happens again I can cope with the stress a bit better given that we made it through this experience!
